Yep, It sort of looks like C J is running around trying to survive and stay healthy enough to find some timing with his receivers at some point this season. That's on the O line.

The line backers are another real issue. Going to be a tough slate is things don't come together soon.

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
7-7 last week.

Northwestern(+13') over Iowa (1*)
- - They want it as bad as Iowa. That?s too many.

Nebraska(-20) over Illinois (1*)
- - From the senior QB to the defensive coaching, Nebraska heads home still under the radar.

Colorado(-19) over Oregon State (1*)
- - Who really wants to go into Boulder and play this week?

Miami(-7') over Georgia Tech (1*)
- - Not on upset alert here.

Wisconsin(+11) over Michigan (1*)
- -

Tennessee(-4) over Georgia (1*)
- - An engraved invitation to build on last week.

Kansas State(+3') over West Virginia (1*)
- - This should be one good game.

Penn State(-2') over Minnesota (1*)
- - Franklin needs too get something good out of his buggered up team in this spot, we shall see.

Louisville(-1) over Clemson (1*)
- -

Michigan State(-6) over Indiana (1*)
- -

Syracuse(+10') over Notre Dame (1*)
- -

Oklahoma(-3)(-129) over TCU (1*)
- - Is Stoops spiraling out of control?

Washington State(+1') over Oregon
- -

Wish I had more time to research Penn State, Wisconsin, Louisville and Oklahoma. But I'm off to IowafuckingCity. Go Hawks!

NCAA YTD: 22-21 (-2.13*)
NFL YTD: 13-14 (-4.21*)
NFLX: 2-0 (+2.00*)

Minnesota(-1) over Iowa (1*)
- - As for a rivalry, ?Who hates Iowa? We hate Iowa!?, the Gopher fans like to chant, in football, basketball and women?s volleyball, even when they are playing someone else . . . While every Hawkeye fan is wondering why Iowa is continually losing the physical and mental battle on both the DL and OL, I?m not yet convinced the Hawkeyes are a hopeless bunch in discombobulated and dispirited disarray. But until Iowa shows on the field that they are getting things right, you have to like this spot for a hungry Minnesota regime at least 52.4% of the time . . . And FWIW, I was at Kinnick last week and Northwestern definitely impressed as a disciplined and capable team to keep an eye on in the weeks ahead, and I was ready to like their chances this week, but they have a bye, and instead I?ll be liking them as double digit dogs at Michigan State next week.

Colorado(+6) over USC (1*)
- - Each week there is nothing to dissuade me from becoming more invested in the belief Colorado is a special team having a special season. Right now I know they will be carrying my cash most every week while they are being severely overlooked on their chances of chasing down the crown against the always yo-yo behaving teams of the Pac 12 South, and while I also know Colorado will certainly have to absorb and withstand some blows along the way, I?m equally certain USC will have to absorb some serious blows in this 60 minute fight.

Michigan(-30) over Rutgers (1*)
- - A good time to venture on the road under Harbaugh for the first time in Week 6 IMO is after thoroughly outplaying a stern Wisconsin team but only escaping by 14-7. A good place to venture to is Rutgers which has no chance of keeping up if the Maize and Blue give a snarling effort.

Texas A&M(-7) over Tennessee (1*)
- - I was very surprised back when A&M was favored by 6' at a neutral site over an Arkansas team I really like. Then I did some investigating, and I learned the story was the Arkansas OL was somewhat suspect against the Big Boys playing at an elite level up front on defense for A&M. I then let A&M carry my cash, and the final result after a 60 minute pitched battle was a 21 point spanking . . . This week it?s a Tennessee team with questions about the play of their OL, coming off hugely emotional back-to-back comebacks, with a defense missing probably 3 of their 4 best defenders facing a physical and dynamic spread offense, getting the 12th Man at Kyle Field to boot. I just believe all the evidence shows Kevin Sumlin is further along than Butch Jones with the task of having his charges and staff be a scary SEC contender, and that?s where my money is again this week.

Maryland(-3) over Penn State (1*)
- - I somewhat nailed my Penn State play last week when I believed it was somewhat of a desperate spot for the James Franklin regime. This week I just have to wonder how much they have left in the tank to put down what should be the hungrier team in Maryland . . . One of many games this week, NCAA and NFL, in which I?ve watched the lines move against me all week on games I knew which side I liked, but I just didn?t have time until after midnight last night to work on any write-ups for posting my plays, although I did get my NFL plays in and posted on Monday. (BTW, I?ve got Minnesota(+2) over Iowa, I?m just not posting it, and I?m now looking for a chance to middle from Cincinnati(Pk) to (-2') over Dallas.)

Washington(-9') over Oregon (1*)
- - The direction of Oregon makes Iowa look stable, and rival Washington has to have this game circled for some payback after 12 straight defeats, so I?d rate them as multiple notches hungrier than Minnesota.

- - Probably the only significant write-ups for today, but probably not the only plays.

Iowa(-11') over Purdue (1*)
- - IMO Iowa had at most a three game stretch where they could not have played much worse, but IMO a 4-2 team which is 2-0 on the road, +5 in TO margin and 17th in the nation in fewest penalties per game is not in disarray. Iowa took obvious strides last week at regaining some of their identity and swagger, and I expect this week against Purdue is made to order for pushing forward on both sides of the ball. And time for Desmond King to be rewarded with impactful stats.

Florida(-13) over Missouri (1*)
- -

Ohio State/Wisconsin(Un44) (1*)
- - I think both teams have been locked in all week for exactly that kind of contest.

Nebraska(-3)(-113) over Indiana (1*)
- - Indiana really wants to knock off a Top Ten opponent, but I think these 2016 Cornhuskers are strong enough to deliver in this spot.

Maryland(-5) over Minnesota (1*)
- -

Colorado(-10') over Arizona State (1*)
- - Would you expect anything different?

Wake Forest(+23) over Florida State (1*)

- -

Northwestern(+7)(-125) over Michigan State (1*)
- - I posted two weeks ago that I would be looking at taking Northwestern here as a double digit dog. I hope 7 is enough.

Pittsburgh(-3)(-122) over Virginia
- - Time to step up.

NFL YTD: 20-19 (-3.20*)

Wisconsin(-4) over Iowa (1*)
- - Wisky has questions at QB, but otherwise proven as stout and elite and showing nothing but heart. Maybe this Iowa squad will rise up with a singular performance to date and knock Wisconsin two games and a tiebreaker back in the standings, but my money says otherwise.

Colorado(+1') over Stanford (1*)
- - Another bite of the apple.

Mississippi(+7') over LSU (1*)
- - I pretty much agree with a take from elsewhere . . . The bounce after Les Miles' firing is likely over now. Ole Miss is the desperate team here off a brutal run and brings the offense and QB to outscore LSU.

Texas A&M(+17') over Alabama (1*)
- - Tennessee was way, way, way ?overextended? on the run of their season to be catching rival Alabama. A different story this week, as Bama catches a rested team I like a lot that is given no chance and is playing big games with maturity, confidence, resilience, weapons across the board and a chip on its shoulder.

Arkansas(+11) over Auburn (1*)
- - I say Arkansas brings plenty to this game as a nearly double digit live dog.

West Virginia(-6') over TCU (1*)
- - Winners of 10 out of 11, now with their defense holding Texas Tech to 17 and K ST to 16 shows they are equipped to improve vs. a TCU team on which?their corners stink, their whole secondary is small, and they get very little push from the DL.?

Washington State(-7) over Arizona State (1*)
- - Arizona State is as soft as tissue paper. Washington State is on another terrific run like last season, but I am worried they may be a little vulnerable being a road favorite this week, and I actually never like when Coach Leach is all caught up in some personal war of words.

Kansas State(+1') over Texas (1*)
- - Texas was insipid in the first half against Iowa State, but caught a little fire in the second half and were able to have their way with a likely worn down Iowa State cupcake. I think this is a desperate spot which favors Kansas State showing they are just as middle-tier as Texas on any given Saturday.

Kentucky(+3') over Mississippi State (1*)
- - Just one more . . . for now.

LSU(-4')(2h) over Mississippi (1*)
- - I might be 0-4 on the NCAA and NFL seasons for second half wagers, last year I was around 6-2. I missed the first quarter, but LSU has been much more physical while there is no comparison at QB, and they both want it a lot. LSU wins by 4' or they lose.

Eastern Michigan(-7) over Miami Ohio (1*)
- -

Houston(-9') over UCF (1*)
- - Looks like value in this line at home.

Tennessee(-14)(-123) over South Carolina (1*)
- - If Tennessee doesn?t come out answering the bell this week then they are brain dead and emotionally dead, and their second half play this season shows me they are neither.

Clemson(-4') over Florida State (1*)
- -

West Virginia(-4') over Oklahoma State (1*)
- - Not much respect, Part 7.

- - Wisconsin gets the home win, I don't think it's razor thin . . . FWIW, the analyst last week pointed out how creative HC Chryst gets with his backfield, and I totally agreed after it was pointed out, and then last week for good measure they mixed in some very productive right handed QB play.

Kansas(+40) over Oklahoma (1*)
- - Kansas can move the ball and score; banged up Oklahoma not likely to go pedal to the metal for 60 minutes with a road game on Thursday.

Stanford(-4) over Arizona (1*)
- - I don't see Arizona being the one going in the right direction here.

Texas A&M(-10') over Mississippi State (1*)
- - Texas A&M should have easily covered for their backers at Alabama because they are that good and they played that well. But I never expected A&M to win that game, and what I expected was after they lost a war to Bama, I would be all over them once again in a pissed off and focused spot in their next meaningful game in the SEC. In the meantime I had no difficulty steering clear of them when there was little or no value offered in their next un-meaningful non-SEC game, when they would merely do what should be expected of them, as they exactly did, hardly being dispirited in failing to cover a 43 point spread by 1.

Oklahoma State(+3)(-130) over Kansas State (1*)
- - Kansas State is down enough this season in almost every area of skill, depth and intangibles to have no business being a ?toss-up? favorite at home, and the old moneymaker of playing an unranked favorite over a ranked dog has not been much of a moneymaker for multiple seasons.

Alabama(-7) over LSU (1*)
- -

Iowa(+6') over Penn State (1*)
- -

Michigan State(-9') over Illinois (1*)
- - Illinois in 2016 is still a bad football team. Michigan State has been on a bad run. I think there?s a very big difference between the two when the teams meet today after the team in the funk showed a major sign they finally have their heads peeking out of their asses again.

South Carolina(-6') over Missouri (1*)
- - South Carolina names the score, good or bad, based on what they bring to this game, they will not have their hands full.

Pittsburgh(+5) over Miami (1*)
- - Miami will have their hands full, I will take the points.
