I see a couple early leans, and I am looking at a few others.
Rutgers @ Michigan State
Too many guns in the Big10 for M St to hang with, so they might want to execute against teams like the Knights. Smoker is getting his feet back under him, and I think the rust might have been knocked off last week.
With a new head coach, in a very difficult conference, I expect Mich St to play their best ball in games like this one. Rutgers is picking up a check today, and that is about all. Their win last week means they have the same amount of wins as last season already!
Against a team like Mich State, Rutgers will need to use their only "weapon", which is their ground game. On the other foot, Mich St and Smoker will be airing it out all day. (He needs to get some more confidence, fellas, and what better place to start?) I expect State to put up their points early today, and I think the first half line looks very nice! (Rutgers may not score a point.)
3 units:
1st half: Mich St -10 -110
--------------------------------------------
Houston @ Michigan
Another pure mismatch. Michigan demolished Cent Mich last week, and this story will be more of the same. Houston can look like world beaters all day long against Rice, but this is another story!
Michigan will not stumble, or even let a team like this stay in the game for a few stinking minutes.....they can't afford too, with the Big10 race being a pretty close one on paper this year.
Houston has nothing to bring to the table today. They will be a little better against the run than Cent Mich was! Chris Perry shouldn't see close to 200 yds today. I expect a good amount of running, but Navarre will do a little more passing in this game, IMO. Although I expect Michigan to run away and hide, there is no way in hell I want to lay 28 points! Since I doubt Houston will see double digits today, I think the value is in the under.
2 unit play:
Houston/Michigan under 54 -110
---------------------------------------------
Akron @ Wisconsin
Jim Sorgi needs a break out game. This will be his best shot all season for that. Akron could not defend the pass with 22 guys on the field. Plus, the Badgers have a tremendous running game in this match-up, so mixing it up will add more confusion to the Zips.
Akron put up nice passing numbers last week, but not against a team like this. Although the badgers have a track record of falling, or at least slipping, against teams like this, today will be the charm. I think the Badgers will score on their first 3 drives, making the 1st quarter a big quarter.
2 unit plays:
1st qtr: Wisconsin -5 -110
1st qtr: Akron/Wis over 10' -130
Might have more later........
