Just thought I'd get the prices out and see what everyone thinks and give my thoughts.

AL:

Red Sox -168
Angels +158

Tough series to cap because you don't know which Pedro will show up. If he pitches like old Red Sox should win in 4 even without home-field. Vlad Guerrero is my MVP. To even have a chance he's got to put up numbers like he did in the Rangers series. Escobar, Fatman, and Washburn are solid (Lackey maybe) but all are pitching like number 2 pitchers w/ exception of Fatman lately. Boston has better hitters top to bottom. I'd love to see the Angels win, but Pedro (regardless of lately) and Schilling too much.
RED SOX IN 4

Twins +176
Yankees -186

You can have Santana AL Cy Young, but he can only win you 2. Yankees bats can overcome their poor starting pitching and Kevin Brown and Mussina proven in post season. I'll take Rivera over Nathan. Yanks bats over Twins in a landslide. Twins a good club and seem to do all the little thinigs to win. If Twins had homefield they would have a shot. IMO best playoff atmosphere in all of bases and hardest place to win. But they don't. This will be a series but in the end, yanks struggle through.
YANKEES IN 5

Dodgers +177
Cardinals -187

I'm way too biased for this one. Looking at it from an objective stand point, pitching is even with an edge to dodgers bullpen. Bats are far and away a big edge to Cardinals. Who knows what you will get out of Morris, Suppan, or Marquis. Hardly gangbusters. Odalis Perez best starter in the series (not saying all that much), but St. Louis rocks lefties. Weaver and Lima are huge quesiton marks. Bottom line if St. Louis can score 5 a game they win the series easy. If Dodgers can play low scoring affairs and take a lead into the late innings they can upset.
HOMER PICK DODGERS IN 4

Astros -129
Braves +119

Oswalt and Clemens 4 times. Bobby Cox has done his best job ever managing IMO, but in a short series this combo is too much. I"ve always hated the Braves because of that dumb tomahawk chop stadium chant. Ortiz, Hampton, and Thompson don't scare me. Smoltz is real deal, but Lidge pitching like he can lately and been just as good. If Astros bats don't cool off they should win rather easily.
ASTROS in 4

The only series I'm actually putting money on is Astros and Yankees. Those are the 2 strongest IMO.
GO DODGERS

ANGELS + 158.......Gonna be tough with Schilling and Pedro but hoping Pedro still stinks up the place....Thinking Anaheims pitching will be the key...Hopefully the fat slob and Escobar and Lackey can do well.....Schilling might be able to be beaten in Anaheim

YANKEES -186....Love this play and think they dominate the series...I hate the Yanks and love Santana but this is the playoffs where the Yanks turn into a different species....too much offense and some surprising pitching wins this one for the Yanks

CARDS - 187......Gotta go with the home field here as the Cards will win a great series in 5...Have a feeling there may be alot of overs in this series

ASTROS -129....Astros rolling and too much offense and pithing will overhaul the Bravos in 4.....and yes I also think the Astros finally win 1

Best of luck to ALL and best of luck to you and your Dodgers Bleed

Great write ups --- I need to do much more work looking into these games but right now I'm tempted to take all four dogs, as I think two will hit this year (maybe more)

Like the Dodgers and Angels a lot at these prices.

Best of luck.

Playoff series prices

Playoff series prices

Hey Guys! New to the forum. I am +11 untis this baseball season and my goal is to be +20 so I am focusing hard on these playoffs. Don't know if I will play any series lines, but here are my thoughts.

Boston/Anaheim: No way will I touch this one. Boston looks like the better team, and they just swept anaheim a few weeks ago, but the Angels really came together over the last couple weeks and Pedro really fell apart. That Angel bullpen is super scarry in the playoffs as we learned 2 years ago. I think the price is right where it should be. I will be looking to ride Schilling, fade Pedro, and maybe get some good value on the dog when anyone else pitches for Boston.

Yankees/Twins: The Yanks own Minny, but I can't eat this much chalk when I'm betting against Santana. I will wait for Johan to take game 1 at Yankee stadium, and then jump on the Yankees adjusted series price.

Cards/Dodgers: The Dodgers have some good pitching, but no one really good enough to be expected to shut down the Cards lineup. I also see L.A. as a team that is not in good form coming into the playoffs. Outside of the ninth inning, how many runs has this team scored over the past week? The Cardinals pitchers will also be pitching with the confidence that if they give up a 4 run inning, they can still win the game. It just seems like a big gap in talent that L.A. won't be able to overcome. I am suprised to see the line below -200. I may load up for 10 units on this series and let it determine whether or not I reach my goal.

Braves/Astros: The better team does not always win, but nobody seems to be disputing that the Stros are the better team here. I am not as sure that Houston will win, but the price has just as much value as the Cards series.

hope to hear many more opinions and GL to all

i like the twins in 4 here.
gardenhire has had alot of time to get his team
rested and his rotation set. i see santana beating
mussina in game 1, radke beating leiber in gm 2,
silva losing in gm 3, santana coming back on 3 days
rest and taking game 4. santana and radke are very rested as last outings only were around 5 innings/75 pitches, so pitching on 3 days rest should be no problem. the twins are better defensivly while the yankees have stronger bats,
but like the saying goes, "good pitching beats good hitting".

Most likely going to go with what I feel are the two loosest teams coming in....

Houston
& Anaheim

Both playing on borrowed time and having fun.

No series price from my local yet.

On the course!
>If Twins had homefield they would have a shot<

If they can win one in NY, they will have the hf advantage. I think the price on the yanks is too tall, and I would side with the Twins at this point. (Based on price)

Yanks are always tough in that first series, though.
