In the last preseason game Sunday night, the Sabres gave up 4 goals in the last period last night [Sunday] to lose 3-4 to Columbus. BJs outshot Sabres 21-5 in final period. This is NOT the way to finish the preseason!
Now the Sabres face a very much improved and improving Isles team to start the season on Thursday 10/10.
There is a lot of uncertainty with who will own the Sabres, as the Rigas family is under indictment for the Adelphia scandel. This will probably be a distraction all season long for the team.
Associated Press: "Bettman has previously said there were as many as five groups interested in purchasing the financially troubled team. The only bid to be officially submitted to the NHL so far came from a group led by Buffalo businessman Mark Hamister, on Sept. 19.
Four other groups have also expressed interest in the franchise, including one headed by the partnership of Sherry Bassin, owner of the Ontario Hockey League's Erie Otters; Alan Maislin, whose family operates a major trucking firm near Montreal; and Frank DuRoss, the owner of the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.
Rochester billionaire and New York gubernatorial candidate B. Thomas Golisano also has expressed interest in the Sabres..."
Dont have lines yet, but more than likely I will be looking at the Over and the Isles.
Wednesday's games:
1. Rangers at Carolina [Stanley Cup loser vs. a Rangers team, who started fast last year, and faded drastically]
2. Dallas at Colorado [Colorado has traded Drury - one of their best players - WHY?]
3. Phoenix at LA [last year was pretty much a home team win in this series, if memory servies]
Other comments regarding other teams appreciated...
