The 5 Riddles....

1. A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?

2. A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be?

3. What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away ?

4. Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday?

5. This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious as to just how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so ordinary and plain that you would think nothing was wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is highly unusual though. Study it and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out. Try to do so without any coaching!

Easy...

Easy...

1. The third. Lions that haven't eaten in three years are dead.

2. The woman was a photographer. She shot a picture of her husband, developed it and hung it up to dry.

3. Charcoal

4. Sure you can: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow!

5. The letter "e," which is the most common letter in the English language, does not appear once in the long paragraph.

Like anyone would have believed you could figure them out, let alone in 4 minutes.

ya but why ruin a guys fun post for peeps trying to guess with CHEATING:shrug:

Don't see how I ruined it   I google things all the time when I don't know the answers, and when I initially looked at it I knew the Lions answer and the charcoal answer and wanted to know the rest. Google is one of the most useful tools on the internet. Maybe that's why I answered it, and answered it correctly with google help.

Sorry if I "ruined" the fun:shrug:

Got 2 and 4 before the party pooper came and peed all over everyone's parade.

I still think my logic on the first wasn't too bad: I guessed the one with the assassins because they may be the murderer's friends. :)

I got 2 of them as well. Lions was easy, and charcoal I had heard before.

This is exactly why if kniefl was going to be in Vegas why I had to back out. I couldn't take it.

It's like a poker hand scenario WITH the outcome.

Where's the discussion for the discussion forum...

Jon, nicely played. :142smilie

And the answer to Scott's next riddle is "the clown did it."

I like riddles. Looked at them briefly, and this is what I come up with.....

1. It seems kind of obvious, but the murderer may know the assassins. Problem is, the lions may not be in the best of shape given their prolonged fast. I have eliminated the fires for sure.

2. Still nothing here, but will revisit

3. Some form of fruit, like a black cherry, which has black skin, the inside is red and the pit could be grayish. Gonna revisit as well.

4. Isn't the day after Christmas some sort of Canadian holiday? Maybe Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the Canadian holiday. At first I thought yesterday, Monday and Tuesday. But that only works because today is Monday:shrug:

5. Can't come up with anything. I see no v or z in the paragraph, but that is not particularly unusual.

Cheers to giving it a go. I accidentally scrolled down and saw dickhead posted the answers 4 minutes after the original post. I couldn't believe he figured them out that quickly I had to see his answers....then I realized what he had done and it ruined it for me. Good job Cie, and congrats on the discipline.

would the first, second, and third also be correct answers for the number 4? I got the lions one correct, and the last one right too. Was stumped by the others even though I've seen them before. Please see the avatar. :SIB
