I played qb for the Purple Haze in Long beach we were ranked nationally, I played in a very competitve leauge lots of fast black guys and very physical, the refs would let us play physical.
One of the keys is to always look to pitch the ball because if hits the ground it is dead and not a fumble. Another key is if your qb has a good arm, take a long snap because it will give you more time to throw if he is mobile or not. Another key if its 2nd and short, jump offsides on purpose so they dont bite big yardage into the next first down marker. Also have a practice to go over things, the most organized teams tend to win.
1. Make sure you look off the db as a qb, I like to flood one side with wr and then go up top to a lone wr on the weak side.
2. Dont make a conscious effort to get everybody involved, that will happen on its own anyway.
3. On defense have your 2 fastest guys pass rush, have your 3 other guys man up, press covrage on there 3 best wrs and have the 3 girls play zone
4. We run a no huddle offense, with wrs running routes off of the covrage, we work on a silent count, make sure your wrs find a window and sit down.
