i am heading to vegas on may 16....little bit of a problem....
was told that a room would be all set ....was supposed to stay at Mandelay Bay with a friend...i get my plane tickets yesterday...but now he tells me his girl is going ...and i have to get a room somewhere..for me and a friend...glad he told me now...AZZ...now i have to scratch up some extra cash...

where would you recommend?....

because i dont have much time.to save up much more $..i cant be expecting anything to fancy...

appreciate your help...

cooz- check out the San Remo- have never stayed there but I'd bet it's probably one of the more reasonable ones up at that end of the strip near Mandalay

lots of great deals in Vegas right now- check out Orbitz or Hotels.com or Vegas.com and you should do fine

check out the flamingo... its cheap and its right smack in the middle of the strip.. best pool in vegas, and a great view of caesars palace..

its anywhere from.. $40 to $90 a night..

if you cant afford that.. your not going to last long in vegas

Circus Circus always has super cheap rooms....... But remember..depending on how much ya gamble.......it really isn't that hard to get rooms comped Just a thought

I have to admit I don't know that much about the hotel rates on the Strip. However, if you check the websites of the mid-grade properties (Riviera, Sahara, Frontier, IP, etc) you can probably get something in the 45 range midweek and about 65 or so on weekends. When I relative here, they often stay at the IP -- which runs promotions (room for two nights $35 -- that sort of thing). Forget about Downtown that week. The WSOP is in town May 18-24 and the entire downtown area (cheap hotel) will be blocked. Can't speculate on Sam Remo, but that is a good location. Ideally, if you can get into the Flamingo for anyting that's reasonable, that's the best location in town (for convenience). Also, try the Barbary Coast -- they run special too that are affordable.

where i send all guys or people wanting to be on strip right in the middle and price is right it has 2,557 rooms so it is not small just older and rooms are fine, good food and easy comps, you are not in room to long anyway have only had one complaint and she had a good reason i felt bad. but not her anyway when she come to vegas and i understand that but for a guy or people not wanting to spend over priced rooms that you are not in , this is your ticket. Yoyu can see the others for free.

Hey Cooz, I heard that Imperial place is a real dump, don't stay there. Also stay away from Orleans. Me and the boys stayed there a few months ago and it wasn't that nice. Our crew spent some time walking around the strip one day. We went on the roller coaster at New York casino and it was a blast. Not sure how the prices are there for rooms, but something to look into if you want to be near a great ride.

Contrary to what Private Prick has "heard" - I have stayed at both IP and the Flamingo next door and both are great places to stay, right in the middle of the strip.... Call Eric, he wouldn't steer you in the wrong direction....

Do any of y'all know how the Luxor is? 3 of my girlfriends and myself are going to be out there in Las Vegas from May 1st to May 5th and we have rooms booked at the Luxor. I have never been to Las Vegas before, but we are really looking forward to having some fun. Does anybody have any ideas on where some good nightclubs are located? Or maybe just a web-site that we can go to to scope out the scene? Thanks a lot!

Hooters- The Ra is a decent nightclub located in the Luxor. Check it out. If you're 'talented' you might be able a spot in one of the cages and dance.

Thanks for the tip, hoops! We'll definitely check it out while we're there. It's even better that it is at the hotel where we are staying. Even though we would probably qualify to dance in those cages, we are pretty shy about that sort of thing. Then again, if we get drunk enough we might just do it!

If any madjack guys are going to be out there during may 1-may5, maybe we can hook up and make a sports wager or two. No weirdos please.

Hooters...just got back from Vegas in early April

Stayed at the Palms and they are currently home to two of the hottest spots in the Vegas. Rain Nightclub is a mega dance club....huge lineup on the weekends....Ghostbar is an upscale lounge there that is situated on the 55th floor of the hotel and has a panoramic view of Vegas. Nice crowd.

Studio 54 at MGM Grand, Light at Bellagio, Voodoo Lounge at Rio, Rum Jungle at Mandalay Bay are all pretty popular....as well a new one at the Venetian. Check out www.vegas.com. They have a nightclub section and should give you the info you want to know so that you go to a place where it is your kind of party. I've got some buddies going that weekend, May 2-6 and staying at New York New York. Have a great time.
