It's true, fellas!
To me, it is one of the stupidest rules I have ever heard of, but it
is standard throughout the industry.
Why is it stupid?
Well, why should you get paid if you lose a wager on a game that doesn't go the distance, but get a "refund" on the total if it has already surpassed the number?
I would really like to know who came up with this "rule", and why every stinking shop has adopted it!?
I would think some book would set the bar a little higher, and do the right thing. Also, I have been on the shitty end of this stick many times, and
NEVER been on the lucky end! How is that for shit luck?
So, you can have a 12-11 game in the top of the sixth get called, and the guy with the 12 gets a win. Four innings to go, but the book assumes that the team winning would win it. A million things could happen, and either team could win, but this is what you have to live with.
Now, same game, and you have an "over" ticket. This game
IS "over"! Went over a long time ago, and there is no way it can go back under. It is cut and dried. There is no fiking way yoiu can justify cancelling this wager, yet every house does! You tell me why? Who decided this would be the standard, and WTF for?

:nono:
Don't give me the "It balances out" bullshit, either! I get into this every season, and will get into it again next year, sure as shit stinks.
It is easily the most idiotic and unfair rule in the industry.
As I stated in another thread, I lost the Cincy wager, and have to live with getting my money back on an over that was completed 4 hours before the game was called. Should have been a split evening, but I get fuked. I would just love to get an "under" refunded once, and maybe I would feel better.
