Ok, not reviewable....But what should the call have been.....:shrug:
I'll take a stab at explaining if that's ok...
First off, I've seen dozens/hundreds of times when runners flagrantly running almost on/actually ON the grass and the umps don't call em out..
Second, the runner is allowed to take a straight line path towards the base ~ which Turner DID!
He never waggled out further into the baseline, and you could see it on the replay...
as he approached the base, he seemed to move further to the right to avoid collision/interference..
AND...
His position at the time he's stepping onto the base is on the middle of the bag.. AS he's moving further to the right.
SO...
he did not seem to make ANY attempt to hinder the fielder.. a poor throw into the back of the base runner and an awkward play by Gurriel (fielder) created what should've been runners on 2nd and 3rd.. zero out.
and for those of us on the "over", who knows how many runs they might have scored that inning.
