1. It's difficult to give "advice" on a game that takes years to really master (I still read strategy books, and I've been playing this game 20 years), especially in a short paragraph. I think the main idea should be for you to have a good time while playing and not worry about grinding out a big bet an hour ($10 an hour in a 5-10 game). I suggest being very selective with your starting hand requirements -- pairs and big cards (A-K, A-Q) and throw away everything else. Then, if you mis the flop, get rid of your hand. It will be tough to lose much money in a low limit game if you play this way. Howver, if you catch a nice run of cards, you could walk away with a few dollars -- not many games in the casino allow this kind of Risk-Reward ratio. Good luck.

2. I look for a fade from the Fakers this year. First, this is a poorly coached team. There are also a lot of primmadonnas on this team. Add that this is an old team which has been lucky not to have many injuries in recent years. Gannon in the one key figure. If he has another big year, Oakland could go 10-6. But the defense is average. If Gannon goes down, the season in over IMHO.

thanks for the reply. being the eternal pessimist i feel much the same way. i hope for the best. however, the def has holes and the offense will probably show little balance. i truly hope gannon will stay healthy once again,
