So let's say a third party guy gets in. It doesn't matter who. He still has to deal with the congress which is run by the Dems and the Repubs. What makes you think he will get anything done? The Repubs can still take their stupid oath of no new taxes. The Dems can still vote in lock step against them. I do not see how anything changes?

Stevie...if a third party candidate did get in it would have to represent a mandate by the people who voted for change. That wouldn't happen in a vaccum but, rather after years of building a base of people who are tired of what we have had for about 20 years.

To your earlier point, I think 4-5 "third" parties would form and then people would flock to the 1-2 that best represent their viewpoint. BTW...most people in the US are fiscally conservative (primarily a Republican viewpoint) and socially liberal (primarily a Democratic viewpoint).

With The Obama we get $16 trillion in debt. With Romney we get idiotic views on abortion, birth control, immigration, religion, etc.

There is room for a true leader who can build consensus in the middle. Gary Johnson is more a figurehead for voters to express their dissatisfaction and build a foundation. Hopefully somebody with outstanding leadership qualities can fill the void for the next election to continue to build toward being viable.

Hopefully everyone here can agree that for, at least, the last 12 years, we have not had a leader in the white house. We will make that streak 16 with either reelection or Romney.

Exactly. You can be a great candidate and want it more than anyone ever has, but if you can't get constant high level exposure, you've got no chance. If people would STOP thinking it was wasting their vote and go that route, this dude would have a chance. Anyone who thinks their one vote means anything when it is applied to the two major parties is not thinking clearly.

You can't get people to think like that tho. If all the owners of Walmart turned into serial killers and were all tried and tossed in Jail, people would still go to Wall Mart. This country doesn't stick together. It is a me first mentality here.
