GW....you can invade the entire middle east, just go from one country to the next, employ the same failed strategies fighting urban guerilla warfare, and you're not going to be any safer at home for stirring up the hornets nests over there.

There are many more attacks like London to come, the middle east is saturated with religious ideologies that clash with any democracy or any longstanding peace you guys want to develop over there...for every one of those guys you kill there are many more waiting to take his place and take up the fight, and die for religious causes against people who will always be considered "infidels"......

We can spend another ten or twenty years over there trying to make a difference, and spend hundreds of billions and trillions of dollars, that's what it's going to take out of us and in the end we will have accomplished nothing, because to the terrorist mind we are still "infidels" and must die, regardless how many civilians vote between the times of picking up after the next suicide bombers.

Quit wasting our grandkids future on a region of this planet that hasn't changed for centuries, pull out, guard our own borders as our military was intended, and let the arabs kill each other as they so desperately want to do....

We can't afford ten or twenty or thirty years over there at a cost of $177 million dollars a day.

"the bunker"
marco...my point is not to belittle you or kosar...i enjoy the debate....

my point is that iraq....whether we stay...or go....doesn`t matter...

didn`t matter before...with the cole...or the first wtc bombing in "93"....or the achille lauro...or khobar towers....

it just took 9/11 to get our full attention...

we will never abandon the middle east...as long as our....no,make that the world`s economy...is crucial to status quo in the middle east...

and as long as radical islamists see us as infiels...crusaders....and allies to israel..... along with hating our modernism....and our western culture....

a culture that has left them in the dust,btw....and threatens them...

this stuff will go on...

and i don`t feel like wearing a sheet or a bhirka....lol

but, thankfully, they aren`t as smart as i thought they were...

from a muslim website....

"Rejoice, for it is time to take revenge against the British Zionist Crusader government in retaliation for the massacres Britain is committing in Iraq and Afghanistan. The heroic mujahedeen have carried out a blessed raid in London."

funny,i thought they were the ones slaughtering iraqis...

people who can use a word like "blessed" to describe men, women, and children being blown to pieces or having their eyes gouged out by flying glass or losing limbs are not just barbarous, they are twisted...... a perversion of mind and spirit that almost defies imagination. ....

by committing these atrocities, thei slamists may have managed to stiffen whatever small residue of resolve remains in our weak knee`d western civilization.....thanks to the whining of the media and guys like yourself and kosar...

right at the time of the g-8 summit...actually,bad timing on their part...

....now,instead of focusing on global warming, poverty and economics, the leaders of the western world....and others....will nevitably turn their attention to the war on terror. .....

one good thing comes out of this slaughter...

they were actually making great progress in g.b....by playing on the brits` overindulgence of any minority complaint....much like this country...with gitmo...

but, they`re monsters...they have to use terror...

thanks to you guys...if the islamists had the patience to play upon our guilt-ridden weaknesses, they might have their victory in a few decades.....leaning over backwards,as you guys demonstrate everday on this board, has become so common in the media here and in europe, that our enemies must honestly wonder whether any spine remains here at all.......

but,out of atrocity, comes some light...the brutal attacks in london snap us back to reality and remind all of us...except the most weak-minded euros and americans that appeasement is nothing less than slow surrender.......

they`ve strengthened british resolve..and the brits were wavering a bit...

...maybe world resolve..

it`s ludicrous to try and reduce this to iraq.....

europe is steadily becoming a part of the civil war that is happening in the islamic world....and now the entire world...

"my point is that Iraq....whether we stay... or go...doesn't matter"

"the brutal attacks in London snap us back to reality and remind all of us....except the most weak- minded euros and americans that appeasement is nothing less than slow surrender.."

So Iraq doesn't really matter and at the same time appeasement is no option, so we should just trudge through some other country in the middle east employing the same non-existent strategy as we are in Iraq? Attack some country just so we can show spent shell casings and say we're fighting back?

Call us "weak kneed" or "leaning over backwards", we just realize that another trillion dollars spent in the middle east isn't going to produce any results that some of the more stubborn people think can be achieved.

The bad news is the government is going to dump more money towards that trillion dollar figure and fill many more body bags to come before it realizes this type of warfare can't be won.

"Thanks to you guys....if the islamists had the patience to play upon our guilt-ridden weaknesses, they might have thier victory in a few decades..."

They will have thier victory if the current administration stays the same course for a few decades....unless you can honestly see a way to keep paying for decades for a war that costs $177 million a day to maintain.
