Not confirmed, rumored on sports talk, Justin Forsett talking with Eagles and two other teams seriously. Deal could be made by Wednesday morning?

pretty sure forsett returns to the ravens...he`s 29,has had 1 good season.... philly`s off the table and spiller and murray are still out there.....

haven`t heard anything, but I think the ravens have the upper hand here....unless forsett wants to end his career in a hellhole like Oakland...

hard to forsee w/ this signing...

Wednesday morning had free agent running back Ryan Mathews traveling to Philadelphia to meet with the Eagles, but things have progressed beyond that.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Mathews has agreed to terms on a three-year deal with the Eagles, who traded running back LeSean McCoy to Buffalo last week as one of the highlights of what?s already been a busy offseason. Schefter reports it is an $11.5 million deal with $5 million guaranteed.

Mathews, No. 47 on list of the top free agents, was a first-round pick of the Chargers in 2010 and had a pair of 1,000-yard seasons in San Diego. The rest of his tenure was marred by injuries, including knee and ankle problems that limited him to six games last year, that led him to play all 16 games just once.

The Eagles will be hoping for better luck on the health front now that Mathews is in Philadelphia. Darren Sproles and Chris Polk are also on the depth chart at running back in Philadelphia.

If Murray and Forsett sign with others, that will hurt the Eagles, Matthews hasn't carried the ball much and oft-injured, if he's healthy he's as good as their is, but that's the key, as you said, IE, if he is healthy. Hard to stay healthy in the 20 second offense Chip runs with so many parts moving at once.

Maybe they'll get a decent RB down in the 1st round like Melvin Gordon or Gurley if he falls that far, but not many RBs have gone in 1st round of late, so 2nd round maybe? Who knows.

Thanks for the input!!

Rolle joins the Bears from the New York Giants. He signed a five-year, $37.1 million contract with the Giants prior to the 2010 season and managed to play every single game of it, including the four games in the Giants' run to the Super Bowl XLVI title following the 2011 season. He also spent the past two years as a team captain and earned a reputation among players and coaches alike as a strong leader and team player.

WR Eddie Royal agrees with Bears.

Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace said the team would address the receiver position in free agency on Wednesday, and hours later, the club agreed to terms with former San Diego Chargers receiver Eddie Royal on a three-year contract, a source confirmed.

Royal put together his most productive season in three years with the Chargers in 2014, playing a full, 16-game season for the first time since 2010. Royal played in 722 snaps, finishing with a team-high 22 catches on third down.

The Bears hope Royal can replace some of the production lost when the club gave up a seventh-round pick five days ago to trade Brandon Marshall to the New York for the Jets' fifth-round selection

A second-round pick by the Denver Broncos in the 2008 draft, Royal turns 29 in May. Royal played his first four seasons for the Broncos, and has totaled 388 career receptions for 3,750 yards and 25 touchdowns in seven NFL seasons.

Royal put together his best season as a rookie in 2008 as a teammate of current Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. Royal caught 91 passes that season for 980 yards and five touchdowns.

San Diego finished as the only team in the league with four players who totaled at least 778 receiving yards and four touchdown catches, which also was a franchise first. Big-play receiver Malcom Floyd topped the Chargers with 856 yards and six scores. Tight end Antonio Gates had 821 yards and 12 touchdowns. Keenan Allen totaled 783 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while Royal had 778 receiving yards and seven TDs.

Those same four receivers also finished 2014 with more than 50 catches (Allen 77, Gates 69, Royal 62 and Floyd 52).
