Vanished into vortex
Come down from the shower yesterday and of course one of the ESPN channels is on tv and in their never ending attempt to make a sport out of everything, the Nathans Hot Dog eating contest is on. Most unbelieavable is they draw a crowd for this thing, anyway one of the rules of the contest struck my as funny as hell, and I am not making this up:

During the 12 minute contest a participant will be disqualified for "Reversal of Fortune" :scared

I almost lost my lunch thinking about someone eating 53 hot dogs in 12 minutes. :nooo: I don't think I could eat 53 in 12 days. I would get disqualified by just watching, but I did like the "reversal of fortune" comment. :142smilie

Talking about ESPN making a sport out of anything, in the last week on some of the sports channels, I've seen competition darts and dodgeball competitions.

Not sure if you've seen the movie Dodgeball, but they actually poke fun at ESPN about that. The Dodgeball tourney is on ESPN8, "The Ocho". ESPN8's slogan is something like, "ESPN8, where we'll show anything that's almost a sport!"

And those announcers take it so seriously. I forget exactly what some of their quotes were, but they were 'calling it' like it was a baseball game or something.
