Maybe we need to start over. First was there a god. Or just a special person call what ever. I mean are we just passing down same story 5 different ways that was told 100's of years a go. Jews, Lutherans, Catholic's, Baptist, Moslem's. And the Johny come lately groups like the Christian right. Who's story is right. So how can any government be formed by religion. Our founding fathers were not all drunk after all. Maybe the atheist are right. Who really knows that's alive today. I know in my case it's about haveing something to beieve in. And a set of rules that are not all bad. But stay out of what movies, books, and my right to take care of myself and right to choose.

Agree djv.

Freeze: "elimination of religion on government mandate"? What are you talking about? I see a Church every half mile where I live.

I have yet to see a single Church shut down - except maybe Koresh's.

elimination of religion on government mandate in the public arena

the federal government/court has no right to restrict the practice of religion

in doing so, they are endorsing atheism as the religion of the state

Utterly absurd. Noone is denied the right to pray anywhere - they can just do it quietly to themselves.- big deal.

Allowing teachers or a student majority to choose a prayer for the minority is inappropriate.

"inappropriate" according to you

but according to the Constitution, Congress shall make no law prohibiting the practice thereof".....nor shall it establish one particular religion -- in this case atheism

the federal governmen shoudl not step in and prohibit such activity...it has no place in doing so

if you have a problem with it, go to the local school board, run for school board, whatever you want...but keep the feds out of it as per the Constitution (and also the legislating black-robed lawyers on the bench which is absolutely unConstitutional in itself)

No one said don't practice. Just don't tell me what you practice is better then mind. And pray to your god on your time not mind. And I will do the same.

Are you saying if they don't talk about God in school. That means they believe in Atheism. I don't think so. If you want to here about god in school everyday. Do as I did. Send kids to a private school. My parents sent me thru grade 7 at our church school. Lutheran. Have to admit it felt like the great escape when I moved on to public middle school. I mean there is only so much religion one can handle in a week.

Amen. My parents sent me to a parochial school.

Freeze is so far to the Right on this he's wrapped back around to those left-wing Nazis he likes to talk about.

lol i am not the one who said he is bigoted against a particular religious group...if anything resembles fasciism, that does

nor am i the one wanting the federal government to endorse a religion (atheism) and prohibiting the free expression of other religions in the public square.....and in doing so, forcing this particular worldview down everyone's throat just because some lawyer working for the government said so!

the Constitution prohibits such a thing!! and you even said so yourself in this thread!!
