NOWYOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD DO A BETTER JOB FROM A MARKETING STAND POINT IN HAVING GAMES AT 2 DIFFERENT TIMES AND GET SHARES ALL DAY SAY A 5:30 PM EST 8:30 FOR THE YANKS HELL CUBS FANS ARE MORE USE TO DAY GAMES SO 3:30 START THEY WOULD STILL SELL OUT FOR OLD BUD AND MLB AND GRAB A BIG MARKET SHARE OF A DIFFERENT TIME SLOT. BETWEEN BUD AND THEM YOU WOULD THINK THERE WOULD BE 1 BRAIN. NOW I KNOW WHY MLB IS MESSED UP AND BREWWERS SUCK IT IS THE BUD. FOX HAS NO CONTROLL REALLY THEY JUST GOT THE BID BUT YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD OF PUSHED FO IT LIKE THAT. ANOTHER DUMB MOVE FOR MLB WONDER WHAT THE BUDSTER CAN COME UP FOR NEXT YEAR WITH ALL READY HAD THE STUPID ALL STAR GAME RULE AND NOW THIS. AND HE THINKS PETE ROSE IS BAD FOR MLB HE SHOULD CHECK HIMSELF.

they are trying to get the most out of two markets.... now im not expert but my thinking is, half will get one game and half will get other... still a dumb move cuz some weirdos out there still dont have cable and cant watch the game on FX. again i really have no clue fletch ... im still mistified about NFL's blackout rule because if jets and giants are on at 1 or at 4 the other channel just plays infomercials ore ven worse..... MASH! That i wont ever get.......

This is one of the most ridiculous marketing moves any major sport has ever made. I don't know what it is like in other areas, but FX is not exactly a household word in Southern California. In fact, some of the larger cable providers don't even offer it. Can't wait to see the spin Bud applies to the upcoming ratings disaster.

Ditto, and the fact we have two teams in the playoffs that will draw higher ratings such as Chicago and Boston makes this decision even more bewildering.

that`s just wrong

that`s just wrong

especially for guys that are stone cold baseball fans and really enjoy analyzing all the strategy and ebb and flow of the game(which i am not and i don`t)........

there`s always p.i.p. for guys that have it.....

I would almost *guarantee* this was a network decision, not a baseball decision. Fox O & O's have some of the top syndicated programming with reruns of The Simpsons, King of the Hill and That 70's Show that are all bigger money makers than baseball would have been in those late afternoon/early evening time slots. This way Fox gets a humongous rating for the Fox telecast and a much stronger rating for F/X, which is a network they are still trying to establish as a major cable outfit.

MLB gets shafted as badly on this deal as us fans do. I would surmise that Selig & Co. agreed to this as a concession due to the absolutely pitiful ratings for last year's postseason.
