Quick question, Burgh:

I consider you the best "trend" handicapper I know. For those who ae not aware, Burgh is a trend specialist who consistetly readjusts his numbers to take avantage of situations where the public and linesmakers are slow to catch on.

However, I am weary of playing a team like Phoenix at the moment -- because of the lack of team chemistry and disarray following the coaching change. I could be wrong about this, but I normally like to see a team win a few games first (then, pressure if off) before I start expecting a team to play according to trends. But, you know more about his sort of thing, which is why I throw the question your way.

I wonder -- do you ignore this factor and simply play the trends that support Phoenix no matter what, or do you think the tends favor PHX so strongly that you are making a play on them IN SPITE OF THE FACT, this team is playing very poorly at the moment (the win versus MEM last night doesn't count).

first let me say thanks for the kind words, but im sure im not the best at anything. one thing i can gaurantee is not many work as hard as i do and each play i post, there is definetly a reason/trends to back it up.

as far as phoe./chic. game....
1st off...why are you dis-counting phoe. win over memphis. sure memphis was missing a few players, but they are not that bad a home team. phoe. held them to 6-pts. in the 4th qtr. to come from behind for the su/ats win. for a team to hold another to 6-pts, ive got to believe they put forth a pretty strong defensive effort. as far as i can tell.....probably the best effort of the yr. for under-achieving phoe. i guess im pointing to the memphis win as a sign of things to come from phoe. maybe theyve decided to play up to their capabilities. i certainly feel better about wagering on them in this instance as opposed to betting on them if they wouldve tanked it and lost at memphis.

my main reason for the play is im betting against chicago.
based on their past history this season, they are in a definite let-down spot tonite.
chicago is 0-6 at home after an outright win as a 5+ dog.
they beat knicks on weds as a 5- pt. dog....
this tells me they arent capable of bringing strong efforrt 2- games in a row....be it they arent talented enuff or they simply like to rest on their laurels.

another factor against bulls...they broke a 4-game losing streak with win over knicks....the bulls have broken 7 losing streaks of 2 or more games this yr....theyve gone 1-6 in the next game...again, they are content they broke the streak....then return to losing form in next game...

plus....bulls recently revamped team as well...thru trade....in my opinion actaully weakened an already weak team even more...
im betting the more talented phoe. team.....hopefully with a re-newed passion to win shows up...its a small number....to lay currently -2 to 2.5...if phoe. decides to show-up and i know its a big if....based on bulls past history this season...they should roll-over for them.

as u know these are not my normal trends i use majority of time, but i feel strongly enuff about the situtaion that the bulls are in tonite ..that phoe. gets the cover..
