2007 MJ posted record: 1-0

Like Texas in the early game. Rough start to the year for them but they got absolutely no production out of Mark Teixeira, Michael Young and Hank Blalock (they combined to hit .182 (6-for-33) with no homers and one RBI against the Angels.) My bet is that can't continue.

Texas 1st home game, sellout crowd against....I think they get their 1st win here.

here some infor I grabbed off the net:

Robinson Tejeda will try to build on a strong finish to last season and help the Rangers into the win column for the first time.

"The right-hander, who went 4-2 with a 2.32 ERA in his last nine starts in 2006, will be pitching in front of a sellout crowd at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington."

"Wakefield was 7-11 with a 4.63 ERA in 23 starts last season, his 14th in the majors. He was 0-1 with a 7.59 ERA in two starts last season against the Rangers, and is 7-13 with a 6.08 ERA in 28 career appearances versus them."

I should point out that Tejada was 0-3 at home last year with a 7.17 ERA which is odd since he had a relatively decent year otherwise.

That is a little scary but he pitched well as a whole down the stretch last year and was 1-0 in spring training with a 2.30 ERA in 5 starts, 12k's, 8BB, 17hits (don't like that, but no HR's) in 15.2 IP

adding Det -165

Like the match-up of Verlander vs. De La Rosa a lot in this spot. Although Verlander fizzled out at the end of last year, he was very beyond solid for the better part of the season.

from the net:

"Justin Verlander is going to the mound for the first time since losing Game 6 of the World Series against St. Louis, capping a postseason in which he was 1-2 with a 5.82 ERA. He also won just three of his final nine regular-season starts, but finished with a 17-9 record and 3.63 ERA."

He'll be countered by converted reliever Jorge De La Rosa, acquired by the Royals from Milwaukee in late July for infielder Tony Graffanino. He immediately joined the Kansas City rotation and made 10 starts, going 3-4 with a 5.18 ERA.

Control has been a problem for the left-hander, who turned 26 on Thursday, as he's given up 106 walks in 144 major league innings.

wow, Tejeda pitched great. 7 IP, 0 runs, 3 BB and a K.

adding...

Philly -117

this is just a gut feeling play. Moyer pitched well last year, Mitre missed most of the year with right shoulder inflammation and finished 1-5 with a 5.71 ERA in 15 appearances. They say Mitre pitched well in spring training, but this ain't spring training:nono:
