feel free to fade em if youd like- as ive both cold and catching bad breaks- a terrible combo. last few days, either gettin blown out, or my bullpens are imploding in the late innings. still feel like these are the right sides though on friday. caveat emptor:

1 unit.....colorado (+115) over arizona
will be interesting to see how many quality innings kim pitches in his first regular season outing as a starter. completely different mindset- and that switch from closer to starter is tough enough- but coors field could be a rude awakening for him. will he get the same type of movement on his slider and breaking pitches? coors history says no- and rockies should get this game.

1 unit.....toronto (+155) over minnesota
basically i feel this game is an overlay. toronto is 0-3, but coming off a series with one of the a.l's best in the yankees. meanwhile, the twins are a deceptive 3-0. if the tigers had ANY kind of offense, the twins could easily be 1-2. twinkies arent hitting the ball all that well. they took advantage of a 20-yr old kid in his major league debut for detroit 2 nights ago, and beat up on the brutal tigers for 3 nights. toronto worth the price here imo. sturtze isnt a bad pitcher- he was just in baseball hell with the rays the last few years yet he still put up good numbers.

1 unit....metropolitans (-120) over montreal
probably need my head examined for betting on cone, but if the world champion expos continue their torrid start- so be it- ill suck up the loss. but mets rested some starters thursday afternoon and les expos is traveling now after an impressive sweep of the braves. still not buying into the expos though. mets should be able to hit ohka.

(added) 1 unit......cincinnati (-120) over chicago
i probably deserve the loss if the reds lay yet another egg. while im not exactly sold on their pitching staff- graves actually proved to be able to make a good transition from closer to starter. just feel like the reds slow start and cubs fast start offers an underlay so to speak. reds laying the 20 cents make sense here, even though their staff has been serving up meatballs the last 3 days

gman,

love the toronto play. Minn may be 3-0 but i agree they didn't hit detroit as well as i felt they could in that series. sturtze should have much to prove but has been a decent pitcher overall. i think many, included myself, feel the jays are an improved team and after getting swept by the yanks looks like an excellent spot for them. with jeter going down and the jays attitude towards matsui not a surprise they got swept. may join you on this one, gl on friday.

Hope you don't mind me chiming in...........

1) Like the Colorado selection. Think Kim has "some" difficulty making the transition from closer to starter, especially with his history of being somewhat of a headcase and his trouble keeping a stable delivery. Doesn't help that Kim has been dreadful at Coors field in his career. Check out these #'s........

13IP 16H 11ER 7HR's 7BB and an ERA of 7.62

2) You're probably right that there is a bit of an overlay in the Tor/Min game but Sturtze is what I would consider a BAD pitcher.

3) Tough game in NY with Cone starting. Wouldn't be surprised to see him throw a 3-hitter, but wouldn't be surprised to see him lit him for 7 earnies either. Ohka, imo is one of the most underrated pitchers in the league. Was 7th in the league in ERA last season and throws strikes. Tough to go against Montreal right now.

G/L with your plays on Friday :)

Holy cow on Kim's numbers. That frisbee he throws should be nice and flat for Helton and co. tomorrow. Nice info.

LMAO. I was looking at the Reds also. Nice pick with the Rockies. E-mail me if you get a chance regarding final four thoughts. Thx, bud.

was contemplating a trip down I-75 to cincinnati to crack some fu/ckin skulls if the reds woulda blown that game after getting out to a 7-0 lead. those sons-a-b1tches hung on thankfully and made for a good night
