Last day laying 1/2 units and getting final preperation ready for the big day. I love baseball and will be ready for a big season and will post as much as possible. I will explain more later in my opening day post. These are all leans till the lineups are released.

Today's games:

Twins Vs. Pirates

Staying away from this one. The Twins start Ortiz but the rest of the lineup should be a ghost town and filled with back ups. The Pirates are the team to play but Gorzelanny starts and has an ERA over 9 so far in the spring. If I was going to touch this game it would be the Pirates, but pass. I will wait and take a peek at the starting lineups here.

Yankees Vs. Detroit

Chase Wright gets the ball for the Yanks against Verlander and detroit. Verlander has not pitched well in the spring and has been trying to locate too much and failing. The Yankees here could be the play if they have they lineup.

Rays Vs. Reds

Big day for the Rays club as Coach Maddon has proclaimed that today will be the biggest day in camp for the last string of cuts. Sao gets the start against Sarloos. This is fresh from the blog of a reporter from the Reds. The call on who is fifth starter -- Matt Belisle or Kirk Saarloos -- will probably be announced Sunday. Both are pitching today. Saarloos was listed as the starter for the last couple of days. But Belisle is actually going to start. Read into that what you will.

There's definitely a get-away day feel here. The bags are packed. Players wore suits in. The media contingent is down to me and Gary Schatz.

Barring a huge lineup change, I am taking the Rays at the nice dog price.

back with some more.

Jays Vs. Tribe

The Indians will say farewell to Florida with one last Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays at 1:05 p.m. ET on Friday. Westbrook is the scheduled starter against right-hander Victor Zambrano. After the game, the Indians will board a plane bound for Memphis and Saturday's Civil Rights Game against the Cardinals.

Zamrano has had an awesome spring and this start will help make a choice at the 5th spot. The indians are ready to get out of here and play in the civil rights game. If the lineups are in my favor I will take them here.

Florida Vs. Mets

The Mets are the play in this one and all you really need to do is look at the starters.

In their Grapefruit League finale Friday afternoon at 1:10 ET at Port St. Lucie, Fla., against the Mets, Minor Leaguer Ricardo Rodriguez will start for Florida, while Scott Schoeneweis gets the nod for New York.

The fish are throwing this one away and it shows by starting a minor leaguer and yesterday they played their new closer Julio which means he won't pitch today so the closing duties will also be left up to some green players.

That's it for the early games and the end of my spring training. Time to start the real deal!!

I thought Logan was headed to the DL, apparently he's ok.

from washington beat writer:

Instinct on Logan: I think he plays Monday. He was flying around the bases yesterday. More pressing point is whether he'll hit balls that will cause him to have to run like that.
