Seattle at NY YANKS
Wow... what a matchup for the weekend. ALCS PREVIEW??? Probably... but if someone NEEDS to make a statement here, it's NY. SEA is comfortably way ahead in their division and for home field for best record. Do they want to send a statement to the YANKS, definitely, so I look for a very competetive series between these two. I also think tonite's matchup will be a shootout as both OFFENSES are clicking, and BOTH will be trying to get the ones up by winning Game 1. With the O/U at 8.5, this game is looking to go way over!
OVER 8.5 -120
KC at DETROIT
These same two matched up last week, and BOTH offenses struggled. LIMA gave up his almost NORM of 2 dingers, but other than that, not much. Now they come to DETROIT, and TIGERS have to be thinking REVENGE for the SWEENEY incident. With GEORGE having a road ERA of 9, and LIMA of over 6, this line looks suspiciously LOW to me at 9. Are they factoring in last week's game TOO MUCH?? or the suspended players?? I don't know, but with no time to wait on UMPS, I don't think it'll matter in DET. I see this game as going OVER also. I would lean to DET, but won't lay -150 on a bad team, home or away.
OVER 9 -120
Anaheim at CLEVELAND
ANA is a very hot road team going into CLEVELAND who are playing great ball themselves. ORTIZ had a very shaky start last time out, but it was due to mechanics, not a hurt arm. His mechanics caused the pain, and the MRI was negative. He's 7-4 on the road and seems to thrive in that role. I look for a good game out of him tonite and I think ANA has a HUGE edge in pitching with ORTIZ and the ML's top BP. CLEV obviously is a great hitting club, but may be quieted by RAMON. NAGY is just that... a NAG! An old horse that oughta to be put out to stud, or sent grazing. ANA will get to him, early and often, and I see ANA winning this opener!
ANA +135
Texas at TORONTO
SEE SWAMI's stats on this play under FREE PICKS, they look very solid and I think this game has the makings of a shootout!
OVER 10.5 -120
Baltimore at BOSTON
TOWERS pitched a nice game last week vs BOS and may be back in the groove had earlier this season. WAKEFIELD seems to like pitching at FENWAY and neither offense is going that strong right now. BOSTON seemed to respond well yesterday, but with NOMAR possibly sitting tonite, I'm going UNDER. WAKEFIELD's home starts are 6-0 UNDER, 4-10 Overall, and TOWERS are 3-1, 3-8 Overall.
