a few of the backups we were afraid would show up did yesterday. but were fine. and the surprise one too.
more guessing today...
Florida----Luongo is my guess here. Hurme isn't ready, nor the other guy. With holiday rest coming up, these teams can use starting goalies on consecutive nights here, I figure..?
Buffalo---Biron. He's been good, but team plays Montreal tomorrow...
Carolina---official site sez Weekes "may see action tonight".
Atlanta---Dafoe sez piece here...........http://www.faceoff.com/nhl/teams/thrashers/news/story.html?f=/news/20021219/021219183326.html
He's 2-4-0-2 this season, 4.10 gga, .857 save pct. ouch!
ATL is 0-11-3-2 vs 'Canes, incl 0-5-2-0 at home.
ATL have scored just 5 goals in last six games, and leading scorer Heatly is out now.
Columbus---Denis, as per reasoning for Luongo (and Kono's thoughts yesterday).......Clumbs 3-1-1 last five, but going 2-8-1-1 the 12 games before that.
Chicago---Thibault. He's had/will have plenty of rest.....Home team is 6-1-3 last 10 meetings, incl all five played in 2002.
STL---Johnson my guess, since Brathwaite started last and neither good of very late.
Blues playing 3rd game in 4 days, have given up 3 PP in each of last two games, have lots of guys out, and just 1-4-1 last 6.
Phoenix----Boucher, who has rest before/after this. He's 4-10-1 vs STL, 2.78 gga, .910 pct, and 2 shutouts.
Home team is 8-0 last 8 meetings......Phx over is 11-3 at home this season.
Ranheim, just arrived from Philly, will play tonight article here sez.....http://www.azcentral.com/sports/coyotes/1220coyotestrade1220.html
good luck to all!
