California doesn?t have Aaron Rogers running the offense this season, but the Bears have one of the nation?s best offensive lines and a set of running backs that are better than J.J. Arrington, who ran for over 2000 yards last season. Cal was without featured back Marshawn Lynch last week (8.8 ypr last year), but the Bears still ran for 294 yards at 8.4 yards per rushing play after running for 300 yards at 8.6 yprp against Washington the week before. Cal averaged an incredible 6.8 yprp last season and they are even better this year despite the fact that teams are paying more attention to the run without Rogers at quarterback. The Bears lost their opening day starting quarterback Nate Longshore in the second quarter of the opener against Sacramento State and backup Joseph Ayoob, a JC All-American last season, was 0 for 10 in his place. Ayoob has settled down since and the Bears have averaged 7.9 yards per pass play against Washington and Illinois. New Mexico State has allowed 5.2 yprp in their 3 game and gave up 317 yards at 6.5 yprp last week to New Mexico. The Aggies have actually been better than average defending the pass this season (6.1 yppp allowed to teams that would combine to average 6.3 yppp against an average defense), but the Bears are content simply running the ball ? which should lead to touchdowns on most of their possessions. New Mexico State?s new offense is actually the Texas Tech ?Air Raid? offense that gave the Bears trouble in their Holiday Bowl loss last season (although Cal was certainly flat for that game after being snubbed from the Rose Bowl by morally loose pollsters). The problem for the Aggies is that they don?t execute their pass-happy offense nearly as well and they?ve managed just 4.3 yppl against a schedule of teams (UTEP, Colorado and New Mexico) that are not as good defensively as the Bears are. New Mexico State has actually scored most of their points against the opposing team?s backups, but Cal?s defensive depth is strong so the Aggies? backdoor ability may be lacking in this game.

Cal by 35 :)

youre too good a capper to blatantly plagiarize. at very worst, give credit to the source. but youre a good enough capper imo to not have to rip off writeups. gl this weekend

The fact that Cal is # 13 means nothing, don't believe in rankings especially this early. Cal is 3-0 against 0-3 SAC ST, 1-2 WASH that beat Idaho, 2-1 ILL that beat Rutgers & San Jose St. N Mex ST is 0-3 against 2-0 Utep,2-0 COLO & 3-0 N Mex. CAL may be the right side but 30 ? One thing I do believe is that both chalk will not cover Friday.

I did not know it was a crime to post game notes from another web site with my pick.

Ripping off write ups is a big deal?
I look at it as...plain and simple info with the play...you make it sound like i am stealing someone`s picks...I also used there game notes for the Utah game...they had the final score Utah 31-Air Force 20,thats an under play i liked the over...i also used there game notes in the Boise game, they had a final score of Boise 45-41 that is a Bowling Green cover, mean while i liked Boise.
Your telling me you have no web site resources for your write ups?

It means something to me that they are the 13th ranked team in the country. And yes i believe in rankings this early.
If you don`t like Cal go bet New Mexico st.
It`s either you lay the 30 or take it,i will lay it.

It's a funny thing, People want to criticize when you only post the picks w/out reason and then when you reveal sources they want to dig your grave.

Myself, If I'm on the game your giving info about and it validates my call even better, then I appreciate the write-up.. Nothing more nothing less..

GL on your pick!!

I think everyone appreciates him posting the write-up whether he wrote it or not. But since he didn't write it, he has to give credit to the source. Look at my USC/Oregon Analysis thread. I posted a write-up another person wrote and made a note of it. It would not be right for me to take credit for it. I posted the write-up because I thought it was well written and could benefit anybody looking to cap the game. This is not bashing. It is called constructive criticism and doing the right thing. That is giving credit where credit is due! You should learn this in school. Documenting your sources!

Good luck on the play Soul Train and thanks for posting the write-up. I could care less if you wrote it or not. It was a good read!

Just found this:
New Mexico?s run defense ranks 103rd in the country and is giving up over 216 yards on the ground per game.

last year Cal ran for 336 and gave up only 37 on 36 carries
Lynch may not start but the other backs have played well.

Bottom Line: What is the play tonight? This site keeps getting more women in it every day complaining back and fourth about all of this he said she said crap. Lets make some money and quit wasting so much time. No offense for the women cappers, God knows you have to cover all basis in here.

How many pts is cal's O gonna score?
How many pts is Cal's D gonna score?
How many T/O is Cal's D forcing/game?
Can NMS even move the ball tonight?
If so how much will they score?
Is there any 1stQ or 1st H predictions?
