For anyone who followed my antics in the NBA this year than you would know I often struggled on thursday's but friday's were pure magic. Therefore the subject friday hangover is more of a rally cap. So I insist this post will have much karma

On to the business at hand.....

Yesterday's Recap:
3-5 -1.15
Thanks to KC for upseting the M's to keep me from getting whooped.

Nolan-I was on the Bo Sox, and to make matters worse I am a Red Sox fan born and raised, and with a chance to catch the hated yanks in the AL East, the wound is salted.

Overall:
52-39, +24.24

I think the Sox took us all down. Not bad, but still a loser. Let's get them today.

"...Quo fas et gloria ducunt..."
not everyone was on the BOSOX....

I told everyone the JAYZ had incentive to win the game...and split the series.

but I also said I was laying off every BJ game from now till the end of the season until they get 5 games over .500

Let's see if I can get a quick around the horn in.....

First, HOOPS! Good to see ya back, I don't know if you watched ESPN summer hoops, but they do a good job of showcasing the young talent on some of the NBA squads....

TV,
I know, I know......

gsp,
I always think your posts are "worth looking at"

Around the Horn

Angels @ O's
PPD Where did this train derail at the pitchers mound? MJ, you may want to consider buying advertisement space on train.

Tigers @ Cleveland
I'm convinced the tribe is the play in this spot, but I am not ready to lay the heavy chalk. Still considering the run line. The total is the more reasonable play. Tribe over in 5 of last six, both teams hitting well Tigers hammered westbrook and wickman, and everyone hammers holt. Only two problems
1) wind blowing in
2) no ump yet...

PASS (possible RL play)

Toronto @ New York
The Jays are the play, but Loaiza has been anything but sharp of late, and I hate to throw dollars on a rookie with atag of 165...

PASS

Texas @ Tampa
If the Drays have a shot of winning any of these games it's tonight. The rays hit lefties well and davis is pitching like crap. Lopez the better home pitcher and handles Arod well as he is only hitting .181. However I am not dropping coin on the Drays and would expect to see the return of Gator's thread.

PASS

Mets @ Phillies
The Phillies are just finding ways to lose games after being swept by the expos. The bullpen is beat up, and although Person is a met killer, he has failed to go six in his last three outings so the mets should get a shot at the busted bullpen.
Keep an eye on Alfonzo who hits .417 lifetime vs. Person. The mets are the hotter club and they go to philly where they have played well, and overall the visitor dominates this series, 9-1 in last ten. Reed gets the start for the mets and he has been stellar on the road 4-1, and the mets are 6-1 in games he has started. Abreu hits him well, but besides that he handcuffs the philly lineup. The pen is rested as well so if reed can give them a solid outing both franco and benitez will be ready to close the door.

Both teams are hitting lousy in the last ten, mets .218, and phillies .223, and with the wind blowing in the under looks nice too, but with no ump I'll post.

I'll back reed at the bargain price.

Final: METS 4 Phillies 2

PLAY Mets -110

back with more.....

Cincy @ Florida
All the negative things that could be said about the reds have already been said, so I'll pass.

Starting Lineups: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/starters/20010720/cinfla.html

Walker will get his first start in a reds uniform, but I think it will be Dimitri who should carry the reds to the W tonight. He hammers Clement who is only 4-3 at home, and has lost two out of his last three and is only 2-2 vs. the reds with an era over five.
Acevedo is 2-0 in his last three and the thing that seperates him from other starters in the reds rotation is that they actually give him run support. (6.40 runs per game) Look for a little letdown from the fish, and the runs should come in bunches tonight..

FINAL: Reds 8 Fish 4

PLAY REDS +140

more to come as always....

Couple Quickies:

Expos @ Braves
Too much chalk to drop to the hot hitting expos, a forum favorite I'll jump on the wagon.

PLAY Expos +170

Also like the Over in this game as the wind is blowing out, but (again) no play without an ump....

Cubs @ Houston
Hate to go against Leiber who has been stellar of late, however he doesn't pitch well against the stros, and redding has been on fire and is the benefit of great run support. I'll take the hot hitting Astros in which should be a good one.

ASTROS Pick 'em

Seattle @ Minnesota
Not touching it. Lean to the M's with Sele a twin killer, but the twins have been surprising me all year and could have busted out of the slump last night.
PASS

Last but not least.....

Pitt @ StL.
I think the lean is to pitt here, but you don't have to be a history major to see the domination by the cards in this series. Do yourself a favor and if you play the cards grab the run line. (Check Hoops post)

PASS

Bos @ WSox
nuff said....
PASS

Oak @ KC
Don't know what you want to call it but I like the royals in this spot. Although he has pitched well of late it has been common practice to go against Lidle since his days in Tampa. The A's bullpen is spent and I look for the Royals (no really) to handle the A's tonight.

PLAY KC +150

LA @ Colorado
Bottom line is the Dodgers are hot, the rocks are not. The rockies have started dumping players knowing the season is over and the Dodgers are in a pennant race. BEST BET by ND doesn't hurt either. Another Band Wagon I'm on.
PLAY LA -120

May be back for late games, but as of know looks like a pass.....
