on a great run... 8-1 and the 1 was butler. ok, yes, i'm still bitter over losing that game. not much time for write-ups... running late.

davidson (+5) 1 unit. if they were patient enough to come back from a 17-point deficit against georgetown, they can handle wisconsin. badgers not nearly as good as the hoyas.

michigan st (+5) 1 unit. memphis can't shoot... michigan st has neitzel and lucas (looks very poised for a freshman).

stanford (+2) 2 units. doesn't this line scream to take texas? if this is a legit line, then i'm screwed, because texas is much better than the cardinal. i'm going with the theory this is a trap, and i'm not gonna fall it in.

thanks, guys. turns out, that stanford/texas line was legit. it was just a bad, bad number. anybody who's watched any basketball knew texas was better (yes, including myself). i'm still a little shocked the line was that bad. you don't expect vegas to be that far off in a game like this. anyways... how 'bout those wildcats? curry is just sick.

counting on the spartans to get me even on the day. why doesn't that give me a warm fuzzy? hopefully neitzel shows up and remembers how to hit 3s tonight.

So. Cal
like to follow your picks and was surprised to see you and niclebaclk on stanford

they have terrible guards and were going to lose to a team with quick good guards and mobile, outside shooting big men........like marquette......and then texas........thought this was a bunny and for most of the game it was.

stanford has the same problem almost every year come tourney time and usually struggle starting in round 2 when they are good (this year), and in round 1 when they are average (last year).

good luck the rest of the way.

gjn, nice to hear from you. i agree 100% re: stanford's guard play. and that's why i was all over marquette against them in round two. and i even said in my post that texas was the much better team. i truly felt that line was designed to get texas action. and they were getting it (76% was the last i saw), but the line barely moved. obviously the guys who make up the lines aren't stupid. turns out, on this game, they were. i gotta believe the books took a pretty decent hit on that game. that doesn't normally happen. i usually want/try to be on the side of the book.

thanks for the post... i always like to get feedback. that's the reason i try to post my reasoning for my plays. well, that and it helps me organize my thoughts.

best of luck to both of us.

thanks, ronnie. it's been a great run. hopefully sparty will come through for me and keep me in the black.
