again, stupid work will be interfering with posting tomorrow, so here are my early plays. nothing really huge; my big games are going late thursday.

north dakota state (+10) 2 units. the bison have won 18 of their last 19 games. the jayhawks are certainly talented, but they are so young.

cornell (+13) 1 unit. i simply don't believe missouri is that good. this line is 3 points lower than it should be for a reason.

utah state (+4.5) 1 unit. this line is actually legit, but i'm going against marquette without dominic james.

i hope everybody's had as great a start to the tournament as i have. i'm a little disappointed in the push with the bison. kansas hit at least their last 8 FT's. oh well.

utah (1.5) 1 unit. if i was just a little smarter, i'd stay off this one. no idea how utah got a 5 seed, and i have no idea how arizona got into the tournament. and normally those teams who shouldn't be in the tournament tend to win their first game. but this 12 seed over 5 seed looks just a little too obvious. i think rick majerus will have the utes fired up and ready. wait, what do you mean, majerus isn't in utah any more?

boston college (+2.5) 1 unit. wow, it just dawned on me yesterday that bc is even in the tournament. how did that happen? at least usc earned their way in. anyways, i'll take the mediocre acc team over the mediocre pac ten team.

florida state (-3) 1 unit. this is about the 'squarest' play i've made in a long, long time. the whole world is on fsu it seems. but this line was adjusted right from the start - according to the numbers, wisconsin should be laying a point. instead of listing all the reasons why fsu should roll in this game, i'll tell you why this very popular public play may lose... because the seminoles are poorly coached and they may let themselves get lulled to sleep by wisconsin. and yes, after saying that, i'll still play florida state. i never claimed to be bright.

obviously i don't love any plays tonight. vcu and western kentucky were my big ones last night. already looking at a huge one tomorrow that will be very, very difficult for me to play.

Smitty, question for you. have you looked at the Xav/port game at all. 57% on X but the line has come down 2' points.

Like the Utah and FSu calls and may tail your BC cause that's the TV game tonite. GL!!

morris, i was leaning heavily towards portland state, but i just have a feeling that's telling me to stay away from the game. and i'm finally learning to listen to those feelings. portland state is a decent team, and if they get hot from the perimeter, they could bury xavier in a flurry of 3-pointers. and xavier doesn't do an extraordinary job defending the 3-pointer (109th in the country). i had portland state against i think it was boise in the bracket busters, and that was a nice, easy win. but again, that little voice in my head is saying stay away.
