Iona -5.5 over Fairfield **
Stags have lost 3 in a row and Iona has won 5 in a row.Iona has the 2 top scorers in the MAAC in Momo and Armond..Laurey is avg 15...they are loaded on the offensive end...the problem is there is only one ball....some coach last week said there " isn't a 3 pt shot that Iona doesn't like...and yet their % is good they cannot play any defense...they avg 82 pts and give up 76....most MAAC teams they play have their season high in pts..Marist scored almost 80 pts..Canisus scored 87 in there last game..only problem was Iona scored 97...Fairfield has trouble scoring....Needham is there only true scorer and he's the pt gd...but the Stags are the best defensive team in the conf...if Iona plays just a little D they should win this by 8-10 pts...don't think the Stags can play catch up...
Stony Brook -1 over Vermont **
These are the 2 Amer. East best teams...last yr Vermont beat SB in the championship game at SBr...I'm not a big revenge person but Stony has had this game marked on their calender since last yr...both teams are about equal..and both teams have forwards that lead in assists..kinda rare...Benton is a solid 6'5 Fd for SB and Ver has 6'6 Voelkel.Voelkel is one of my favorite players in the country...He avgs only 6 pts a game and 8 bds but is such a great passer....love to watch him..many are dazzling passes...Ver is missing their top scorers tonite and SB their 2nd leading scorer...SB on the road has lost some tough games..lost to Seton Hall by 1,Maryland by 6 and was up at UConn by 6 at half...lost by 9....they just destroyed Boston U by 27 the other nite and Ver lost on the rd to BU by 10....
Both teams play tough defense so this game will be low scoring..think Stony Brook wins this by a few..55-50....
