Back later to explain...

Last nite was at Tex St-So Bama game..what an ending...had Tex St -3 but the line went to -3.5..so hedged my bet because I was really pushing 3 but not -3.5...still lost a little but it was worth it. Got to cheer with the 200 fans, plus the 80 Tex St drill team performers,35 band members and 20 cheerleaders...
Tex St had a 10 pt lead in the 1st half with about 8 minutes left...they get a 3-1 breakaway...should go up by 12....but Hawkins throws a behind the back pass to his wing... only trouble was the one defender went that way to and intercepted the pass, threw it down court and Bama scores... 4 pt swing...then Bama tied it up a few minutes later...2nd half played evenly with Tex always ahead by 3-5 pts...but its how the game ended...that was amazing....
Tex up by 5 with 35 seconds left and the ball...Tex throws it in.. My favorite player Joel Wright catches the ball, fumbles it with no pressure on him and the ball goes backcourt...now he follows the ball in the backcourt and knows if he touches it the refs will call back court..so he follows the ball until a Bama player realizes Joel not picking it up...the whole crowd coaches, teammates, drill team and Box is yelling to Joel to touch it because a Bama player will just scoop it up for an uncontested layup..just as the Bama player leans down to touch it Joel picks the ball up...whistle blows..Bama's ball....Bama scores...Tex up 3...Bama fouls,Tex misses both FT's...Tex up 2,Bama has the ball...maybe 12 or 15 seconds...Bama brings it up...Tex coach doesn't foul...Bama hits a 3.. Bama up 1....Tex time out....maybe 6 or7 seconds left..not sure...Tex inbounds...passes to Wright..he drives at the hoop...Bama's Rubit is right on him.. Joel goes up for a game ending layup at the buzzer...but Rubit makes a clean block with 2.1 seconds on the clock..but the ref called a foul on Rubit....Joel shooting 2...down by 1...he was the "goat" a few minutes ago..now he can become the hero...at the Bobcat gym one of the back walls shows replays on their huge screen...the guy running it replays the final play....I guess he thought Joel got fouled....after the replay there was no question it was blocked...Rubit and the Bama coaches are in total disbelief..but you can't review that....
As Joel goes up to shoot his 2 FT's I though for a second...this will be my last time seeing him play...a talented NYC 6'7 slasher-shooter.But a head case who was benched 2 full games and pulled out 22 times this year for bone head plays turnovers and getting Tecs. He was so fun to watch these past 2 years....worth the price of admission...
I can't make there last home game.....think I fell in love with this kid because I coached so many kids like him over the years....anyway....Joel goes up to the FT line... hits the 1st one....after all he hit 208 FT's last yr ...game tied.....goes up to the line.....and swishes the next...Tex St up one...Bama takes a desperate shot, misses everything....Joel is jumping up and down around the court high 5 ing, hugging, picking people up,waving to the crowd, going into the stands....he was the hero...It wasn't Chapel Hill or Durham...it was San Marcos,Texas.....and although I lost a little money I had a great time. When I got home last nite my wife and daughter asked me "did you have a good time?" I said I had a blast. And I did just a little poorer..

just reread this...Bama tied the game with a 3 to send it to overtime....a little confusing on my part.... that what happens when you start to get old...

Iona has been on fire winning 9 in a row. One of the best scoring teams in the country.Has Armond,English and Bowman who can hit 3's from anywhere. Its there defense that is suspect but Laury has really started playing well inside and Poole the transfer...To me that's where they really have improved...Rider lost 3 or 4 in a row and just won. They have 3 pt shooters also esp with Myles,Sadler and Stewert inside...They can score but do not think they can out score the Gaels or keep pace with them...Rider defense is nothing to write home about...Iona is in 1st place by 1 game with everyone right behind them...also cannot afford a slip because just maybe the MAAC might get a team an out side bid to the big dance...line dropped to -4 but I already played it...

Manhattan -6 over Siena ***
Like the Jaspers tonite even though past history tells us the Jaspers hardly ever cover vs the Saints...I know this because I have been on the wrong end many times.Jaspers are one game out and would love to catch Iona who they play next week.Manhattan blew the Saints out by over 20 way back...and that was w/o their best player Beamon. Beamon is back and avg 19 pts a game..Alvardo is the best pt gd in the conf..very quiet player but solid...knows his role....Brown is No 2 or 3 in the nation in blocked shots..and since they have inserted 6'10 Maryland transfer Pankey this team inside is tough esp on defense...and speaking of defense thats what the jaspers do best....pressure def all over the court..Saints gds will have trouble and they aren't to good protecting the ball leading the MAAC in TO's.Saints can't shoot
either...so you have a poor shooting team, that doesn't shoot well, doesn't pressure the ball, and has no real go to guys,Hymes,Poole,Bitspring, etc will have problems tonite scoring... also Manhattan is 12-3 on the road and I think has the most wins on the road then anybody. Also the Jaspers beside wanting to catch Iona is also looking for a possible out large bid in case they get beat in the conf tourney...Jaspers have a lot to lose so I think Masiello has his boys up tonite...again history tells us the Saints have covered in the past but not tonite.

UMass -1.5 over VCU **
Tough game....spent mucho time on this game and have gone back and forth..VCU pressures everyone...but VCU will see the best pt gd they have faced all year in Chazz...problem is they might tire him out but he can break pressure better then anybody.Small lean to Mass.. with Chazz and at home.

Gl--I really like watchng Iona play

they're a fuking blast to watch

10-15 point lead for 20 straight mins......then collapse in last 2+ mins

this fuking conf is like the mac....a tad better than high school basketball and absolutely horrible to bet on

When you play three favorites you are bound to lose its that's simple
Vegas doesn't win with favorites and neither does Joe blow public
Neither does Manhattan and outright loser yet again year after year vs Sienna
Remember history tends to repeat itself.
Sienna was a lock , I doubled up so thanks

We don't play this game here, it's considered a bash.

Also, we post our plays BEFORE the game starts.

Boggs,
Stay out of other people's threads if your gonna b and m'
Box has won myself and lots of others money with his posts ... and I'm talking consistently over the years not just one night / year wonder ..
Get lost ..
Box get 'em today ... great story ...
King Rice has the vaunted :) Hawks playing ZERO d .. looks like a school yard team
Can't believe this guy played at NC he has Brian Reese and another NC player as his assistants
A tough team to watch ... didn't like the hire and still don't

It's not that simple, chalk has covered just over 50% for this season and most seasons... Please post your plays before the tip & try not to post Boggus MISINFORMATION... OPEN UP A THREAD, LET'S SEE WHAT YOU HAVE !!!!:scared:scared:scared READ YOUR POST AGAIN, DOESN'T MAKE MUCH SENSE . If Vegas doesn't win with chalk & the public doesn't win with chalk, WHO DOES ??? Trends are broken every day, many gamblers have been crushed betting on history repeating . We need more posters, let's see what you got ..
