Canisius -2.5 over Monmouth ******
Griffs have won 13-15..have won 4 str on the rd...on top of the MAAC...they have 2 of the top 5 or 6 players in the conf im Crumpton and Reese...Crumpton is a big 6'6 250 pound kid that can score inside and outside..uses his wide body to his advantage...Reese has to be the most improved player in the MAAC..quick and can score...they both avg 17 and 16...Johnson is a solid pt gd..he was 1st team All MAAC frosh lyr...a month ago they beat Monmouth 94-79. Crump and Reese had 23 and 22 pts and Johnson the pt gd went 3-3 from the 3,...Tighman had 18 points...have to update his status..also Seaborn didn't play in that game...Hawks have won 2 of last 3...but think there defense will be in trouble trying to stop the Griffs...I do owe an apology to Reggie Witherspoon..He coached at a juco in Buffalo..recruited one of my players big time... watched his team play with my player...thought he was a terrible coach...recruited great athletes...had winning seasons , all run and gun teams..they he gets the Buffalo job...same thing..recruits big time and has some studs..but as years go by gets fired...then 2 yrs ago I hear he is replacing Jim Baron ..talk about opposites...bad move....all run and gun,no defense, etc ..but I was wrong..last yr Reggie had a decent year..and this year he might win the MAAC..his teams still play uptempo and his defense is better...if I had time I would tell you what happened to my player.. a 6'5 outside shooter...one of the best in NY state..he actually went to Monroe CC in Buffalo thru Reggie...what happens after could make 20/20...one of these days remind me and I will tell...anyway love the Griffs today

Ga St -1 over Ga So ****
Gst had won 10 in a row until OT upset vs UL Monore...Panthers can score...Simmonds might win POY in the conf...they can shoot the 3 hitting 239 3's...Mitchell won POweek 2 weeks ago and Simmonds the week before...they beat Ga So 83-66 a month ago...they can score and are a good defensive team...ga So just got beat by Laf 102-91 the other day.. GaSt blew Laf out...

Niagara +5 over Iona ***
Who knows with Iona..they are 10-5 looking good and then lose to the 2nd worst team in the MAAC Siena in OT..both teams can score.. but Purple have better scorers.. Scott and Dukes are just torching everyone...they have won 3 in a row...have scored 90 pts in last 4 or 5 games..Dukes and Scott avg 21 and 19 pts...only Peter stopped them.. Iona defense is bad but so is Purples...you have 2 uptempo teams that are not good defensive teams..a month ago Iona beat Niag 98-93 in OT...this is a "fasten your seat built" game..will look at the over..think Purple can hang around with Iona and possibly beat them...

Buffalo -14 over B. Green *
Love the Bulls..5 guys that can score...best team in the MAC..but BG can score but are bad on the rd...a small lean towards Bulls...small,small play

URI -2 over Bonnies **
Should be a great game...URI can score, pass, rebound, play defense,etc...have so much depth that when EC Math went down they didn't miss a beat...but watched him get carried off the court the other night..not sure of his status...Bonnies have Adams and Mosbley...at home...what an atmosphere but will still lean with the Rams...Lets say Rams offense is just a little bit better but on the rd even..URI defense is better on the road, outside the gym etc...lean towards URI even w/o EC..he might playthough

Yest 6-6 -3*'s
don't forgot vig disclaimer..will work on that in the off season
Like Canisius big then Ga St

UTA lost the cover again...damn...down,up,down,up,down,down,down....at what pt do I learn... I don't care who they play next I playing them...

Seaborn is listed doubtful and Tighman ??? with a shoulder injury..wow if there both out think Griffs win even bigger

Bleeding purple I'm in ....for my donation...the 2 times I ever won in football or baseball was when I missed draft night...it went to auto draft and I never even got a chance to set my players up...so what does that tell you... I saw the changes..no problem

Thad..that was very nice.. I do appreciate that....I only do college football besides college hoops...but stay close to North Tex conf and Armys independent schedule...
These next 2 weeks in hoops are big because teams are trying to figure out the conferences tournaments...Bonnies game tonight is big for them..if they win they won't play URI until the finals...thats like that in many conferences...what seed and who are you playing.. I;m not saying teams are tanking but I can see teams resting players,etc...
My North Texas has a new coach and he is pretty good...I got to see them play vs UTSA...Smart the juco kid is a stud..but last nite WKU played them...the line was WKU -4 and with about 5-6 minutes NT was winning..not sure what happened but WKU won by 10...

looking forward to your games...going to try to get updates on Canisius-Monmouth...Seaborn their best player is out but their 2nd best player Tighman who avgs 11 pts and 6 bds and 6 assists has a shoulder injury...he handles the ball about 65% running their offense...
again thanks for the nice comments..

:thumb: Thanks Box!

Will be on Canisius big with you tonight. Might tail GA State and maybe URI as well pending a little further research. I'll keep tabs on your post as well to see if you end up adding anything. BOL to us! :0008

Canisius to -3 now (from -2.5 when you typed it and evidently all the way from roughly pk when it opened...)

Two questions: 1) At what line do you no longer condone the play (for example, I assume -3 is fine but -6 is probably not), and 2) Do you think it's worth holding out a bit hoping to move back to -2 or -2' or should I pounce now at -3 before it gets worse?

Saw the juice start to sway in the wrong direction or even the line itself briefly move to 3.5 at some places so I hopped in at 3. Perhaps a risk, but much better than waiting longer and having to decide whether to take it at 4 or 4.5. Here's hoping it doesn't matter and they win by 4+, but boy will I be a a tad grumpy if they win by 3 flat, as I hit it pretty big. And in event, again, BOL to us!

Sorry Thadchr...just saw your post.... I figured the line last night at Canisius -6 or -7...so when I played it at -2.5 that was a strong play...I see it went up to -3.5 ..still think its a safe play...Hawks defense is suspect..only when they played Peter who has no offense did they keep the score. low...they have in last 5 or 6 games given up 93,85,79 and 91...now your playing the Griffs who can score..also with Seaborn doubtful although he has not been scoring a lot when healthy is a big plus...now if Tilghman is out that is a huge plus..he didn't play in their last game..tonite listed questionable...in his last 3 games he has only scored 3,6 and 7... but earlier in the yr he had 14,18,24 and 20 in a row,,,and more importantly he can pass...I know he had a few games with 9 or 10 assists..he was the 6th man POY in the MAAC last yr...tried getting his status but still don't know...even if he plays think the Griffs still win and cover...
I also played 1st half Canisius -1.5 for **

URI is a tough game..either team can win...its one of the biggest Bonnies home game in years...maybe Bob Lanier might show up...Bonnies have those 2 gds but URI has 5 gds that they will tthrow at them... good luck

Musca..just saw your post... defiantly a possible look ahead game ..in all the pre-season literature including my bible Blue Ribbon, Canisius and Rider were predicted 7th and 8th.. Iona,Manhattan and Monmouth were 1-2-3..but they did get last place right... my Marist Red Foxes...
Your point is well taken...though...and I believe in " look ahead games".. I experienced that coaching HS basketball...on Friday night I'm playing for 1st place with a team with 18 wins...big rival..winner wins the league..but on Wed nite I;m playing our cross town rival who is 5-15...and as much as you tell kids it doesn't register...I win by 6 points and struggle the whole game...leading by 2 at the half...I would tell my kids that if CHS beats us tonite " they will close school like a snow day" tomorrow.. My kids believed it but we still played flat...

All good, looks like I made the right call. Got the -3 and then immediately after it moves to -3.5. Also put a bit on the -1.5 for half and the juice is moving on that too. Now I kinda hope for the 4 point win to feel like a genius (though that will require a lot of sweating).
