ytd record.....27-22 (+10.3 units)

thursday was a really strange day. one of those days where i lost the play i felt i should have won. and then won a play i had no business winning. took a tough loss on kim and arizona to montreal (1-0 game) in a game where montreal had 3 hits the whole game and one was by vazquez. dbacks stranded a handful of runners in scoring position.

then i hit a play that had no business winning. (yanks/angels under 10). both teams had baserunners galore, and thankfully the pitchers put up zeros in the final three frames for both teams but there was so many freakin bases loaded situations and 2nd/3rd 1 out situations. just not an enjoyable game to watch and sweat an under with. somehow hit it but wasnt worth the stress. and thats on a day where giambi didnt even play (save for one pinch hit appearance...and of course it was with the bases loaded...props to donnely for sacking up and "k"-ing him)

hoping friday provides some semblance of normalcy:

1 unit.....florida (-120) over st.louis
1 unit.....cleveland (+180) over oakland
1 unit.....minnesota (+145) over chicago

florida....burnett has been surprisingly mediocre this year so far, but im backing him (again) tonight. i love his aggressiveness and how he just attacks hitters...and it doesnt hurt that his opposition has been a gas can this year..tomko is a mess...theres a reason this kid keeps bouncing around, even though he came in with the "top prospect" label...cincy gave up on him...seattle gave up on him...the padres gave up on him...he just hasnt panned out...and he has been getting rocked early in games this year...plus, cards just arent playing well right now...injuries have hampered them offensively, and kline looks totally out of place as a closer...he's a setup man and nothing more...cards are a good go-against until their lineup gets healthy and isringhausen returns to provide the pen with some stability.

cleveland....this year has been so weird for tribe pitchers...the pitchers they expected to shoulder the load have been terrible... sabathia has been lame...he gives up too many big innings and just isnt an ace like the indians need right now....so theyre losing games at the front of the 5-man rotation..but davis has been pitching great lately, and hes been a pleasant surprise...in his last few starts, he's really been sharp...hitters have been driving his sinker into the ground and he's pitched two great outings vs baltimore and chicago...athletics arent hitting the ball worth sh1t right now...tribe got manhandled by seattle, but actually fared well in oakland last year...they could sneak this one out

countinguy:

its been mentioned many times by the media, but its such a weird stat. minny has either swept their opponent, or been swept by their opponent, in every series this year.

what a strange team. winner of this game has to at least hold a psychological edge for the weekend games.

Gman lol I remmeber you asking thar question which pitcher would you rather start your franchise around, Vasquez or Burnett and I said Vasquez since Burnett was too erratic and wild, well damn it why did he have to prove my point right now? He cant throw a strike in the 1st inning to save his life, jesus walked the bases loaded, but tomko sucks so they can come back and i think they will win if they keep this inning from exploding.. LOL just found it to be funny but I think we can still win this one....
