Record to Date:
HSF Degen Plays: 19-4 (+37.2 units)
FCS Div 1-AA: 30-23 (-7.8 units)
NCAA Div I : 34-33 (+0.5 units)

*Rough week especially in the FCS... Need to revamp as the extra juice will eat you alive if you choose to go this route.
*5Dimes has lowered the limits which makes this just a tad above a Hobby Loss/Gain but what the hell...

**Running really late today, so not much of a write up for the two games this evening.... Sorry, however I still think both plays are fairly strong

Ryan -22 Denton (53)
*Two Texas teams seemingly headed in opposite directions... Ryan Raiders come in 4-0 averaging 44.3 points per game. Currently ranked 3 in Div 5A and overall ranked #10 in Texas... In 2016, went 14-1 but lost in the State Title game to Highland Park 31-24....also was 13-1 in 2015, losing again in the Championship to State power Allen 48-21.....The team has several pieces of the puzzle back on offense with Sr QB Spencer Sanders (6'2 195 lbs) passed for 3,258 yards w/38 TDs and 1,099 yards on the ground w/18 TDs in 2016... He won several accolades as a Jr including Class 5A 1st team All-State Selection and MVP for his team... Pretty impressive in a QB heavy state... Last week against Lone Star (another state power) he was 24 of 31 passing for 302 yards w/4 TDs in a very close 28-21 win... He's headed to the Okie St Cowboys where he can chuck it around some more.... Of course, he is successful because he has WRs like Texas Tech commit Gabriel Douglas (in 2016, 1,032 yards w/17 TDs) also WR Tanskie Dove (1,191 yards w/4 TDs)....... Running the ball will be E Bailey who already has 284 ypg and 4 TDs.........Sanders already has accumulated 1,085 yards w/14 TDs and rushed for 261 yards w/4 TDs on the ground...... He's a very dangerous dual threat QB...

Denton Broncos are a respectful 2-2 thus far and just suffered their first home loss last week to Timber Creek 37-7....New Coach Billy Miller best describes his program as a rebuilding year despite the two early wins..... Team is ranked #336 in Texas and #84 in 5A... In 4 games they are only averaging 19.8 ppg with giving up 101 points combined.... Team leader is QB Landry Kinne (a true Texas QB name) he has 544 yards w/4 Tds thus far and has rushed for 109 yards.... RB Xylohn Posey has 462 yards w/6 Tds... *Ryan will have to account for him... 4 different Wrs have accounted for the majority of receptions... Unfortunately, the Defense is still young and inexperienced..

Sanders tore his ACL in the State Title game and with the injury went the Raiders hopes of a Championship..... He feels like he was cheated by destiny last year and this year is his to Finish....The Defense is also fairly inexperienced as it lost several starters from last year, however, I don't believe Broncos can keep pace here and expect a blowout in this one.

Play: Ryan -22 over Denton... 2 units.. WIN

2nd Degen Double Header:

Tumwater -14' Steilacoom (55)

Thunderbirds come in ranked #4 in WA Div 2A and ranked #48 in the state.... The 2-2 T-Birds have lost to State Power Bellevue (the team that upset DeLaSalle National Win Streak many moons ago) 30-13... and lost to Union 33-29 on some fluky special teams plays..... In 2016, the team was 9-2....in 2015, 13-1 losing in the State Title game.... In 2014, they were 12-1 and lost in the state semis....... Still, the T-Birds come in at #9 on the WA HSF list of Dynasty..... The program does have 1 State Title and 3 runner ups....... The offense averages 37.5 ppg and has given up a combined 87 points..... In last years tilt, Steilacoom upset Tumwater (who were ranked #2 at the time) and also stopped T-Birds 40 game regular season win streak that started back in 2012.......

Steilacoom Sentinels (I'm not making this up) are ranked #16 in Div 2A and ranked #93 in the state.... The offense is quite offensive only averaging 22.5 ppg QB JJ Lemming (6'4" 205 lbs) has some decent size but rarely leaves the pocket..... His top WR Marques Hampton (Jr 5'11" 188 lbs) will be playing at E Washington.... Sentinels don't have a great winning history although managed a 8-3 season in 2016.... 2015 saw 5-6 and 2014 was 4-7.....

Neither team is a Offensive Juggernaut and I think the current total is reflecting last year's 33-23 score.... I'm having a hard time seeing these two eclipse the 55 total hung here....

Play: UNDER 55...... 2 units LOSS *Perfect night for Tumwater to go off for 48 points...

We are sort of going head to head on the high school game...

Denton Ryan just had a huge win in the state 1 vs 2 matchup last week vs Lone Star. Lone Star had a chance to tie it up and was stopped short on the one as time expires. Huge emotional win. Now they go play the Denton team that is their rival... I bought this as soon as it opened at 25.5 for my $30...

I am doing this based on the rivalry between the schools and the emotional win LW vs Lone star. If I could have a 1st half bet that would be my preference... You are the high school guru but wanted to share my thoughts.

At 30$ a game it hardly makes it worth the time though.

Try to make your wagers again... I just had a convo with 5dimes and limits may be changed.

I was allowed a higher limit by calling it in...... Hmmm.. Seems like they make mistakes once in a while as last week was restricted on theParlays (iI called on that and was assured it was a mistake).

HSF Game 3 Fryday Nyte Lyghts....

5 pm Cathedral, In -17 Ryle, KY (64)

One of the more interesting games on the docket for Friday..... The Cathedral "Fighting Irish" from Indiana travels a short 2 hour trip to Union, KY.... What's interesting is that the Irish don't have a home field, so they travel to all their games.... They actually travel with 7 buses, which I thought might be overkill until I learn they have over 100 players on the roster.... They also have one of the toughest schedules in the country... Also, a local Indiana news organization is making a series "A Season Inside: Cathedral Football" which is on Episode 4.....IndyStar is the organization putting the video together... I watched a little and was impressed with the program...

HC Rick Streiff is the state all-time leader with 10 State Championships... He has a drawer full of Top End Talent and his team is loaded with Div 1 players.... The 2-4 record appears to be kind of a anomaly as 3 of those losses were from a TD or less and most were against Top Shelf teams.... Cathedral averages 28.7 ppg and has given up a combined 149 points... The Irish are ranked #9 in the state despite the 4 losses..... Also, ranked #481 Nationally... In 2016, they finished 7-5....in 2015, 8-4....2014, 9-5...

Cathedral has 2 of the states most sought after recruits... Sr C Emil Ekiyor (6'3" 330 lbs) was moved from right tackle to the Center position where he has captured the eye's of scouts throughout the state and beyond..... He is heading to Michigan to be a Harbaugh prot?g?.. RB Markese Stepp (6' 215 lbs) rushed for 1,300 yards as a Sophomore... His Junior year was derailed when he pulled a hamstring on his first carry of the season his Junior year and missed the whole season.... If he is, 100% then he should be a top contender for the IndyStar Mr Football Award..His Coach feels he's the best RB he has ever coached, like all good Irish players he's heading to Notre Dame....... The QB position is an area of concern as the new QB is only a Soph with limited experience but has already thrown for 600 yards in a run heavy offense.. He has some size at 6'1" 190 lbs but isn't much of a threat outside the pocket..Of note : Purcell is the son of Notre Dame Defensive Back Rick Purcell (Roman is a transfer from St Peter's Prep in New Jersey.. .. The Oline is big and experienced.. The Defense returned 7 starters and should keep the Irish in all their games..

Ryle Raiders come in at 4-1, only losing their opener to State Power Covington Catholic 49-17.....Ryle is ranked #1, 027 Nationally and Ranked #15 in the state of Kentucky..... Since the opening loss the Raiders have been on a tear... The offense averages 35.2 ppg and has allowed 125 points combined.... Head Coach Mike Engler is in his 4th season (26-11).....In 2016, the team was 12-1 in 2015, 10-3.....in 2014, 5-8....

Sr QB Jake Smith broke his hand last year so didn't get a lot of reps... Fortunately for him, the Offensive Line is experienced with 4 of 5 starters back to open holes and 1protect the pocket..... RB Sr Jake Chisholm (5'9" 180 lbs) has amassed 2,770 all purpose yards w/28 TDs.... Last year he rushed for 1,700 yards w/22 TDs.. He's a candidate for Mr Football in Kentucky....
ees
The Offense may take awhile to get up to speed as they lost a 2,700 passer..... The Defense is strong with all 4 LBs returning... The two returning DBs (Justin Selby and Zach Rytlewski) combined for 141 total tackles (100 solo).... The Raiders also have a fairly reliable Kicker in Mason Molique who was 18 for 22 in field goals ly..

Both of these teams were 6A quarterfinalists last year in their respective states... There is a couple of things I'm still looking at.. Will have the play up shortly

Played the Under 64.......2 units WIN *Could be off on this but both teams play great defense and both want to run, run, run.... Hopefully that translates to a lower scoring, clock-moving game..

I have been restricted in the past with high school only once...Been limited in spring training baseball multiple times...not sure how they decide such things

Valor Christian -22 Cherry Creek (47)

I had made a small wager when the line first posted at 42 (Over)..... Was curious which way this moved..

So don't really need to beat a dead horse when it comes to Valor.... I have written gobs of info on this team if you are at all interested in my work... In fact, had a write up last week http://www.madjacksports.com/forum/...egen-amp-College-Foots-(Div-1A-AA)&highlight= and earlier in the season...And

http://www.madjacksports.com/forum/...Foots-and-HSF-Degen-plays-8-31-9-3&highlight=

Nothing new to report, however, of all the teams in Colorado, it's Cherry Creek that knows the Eagles best.... Also, the man behind the Bruins success HC Dave Logan won his 250th game last week... He has won 7 Championships at 4 different schools, and is going for his 8th Coaching title and the programs 10th State Ring.... His Bruins are currently ranked #6 in Div 5A and ranked #9 in Colorado....team only has 1 loss, a first game jitter...

When these two lock horns it is the States largest school against the top parochial power... The clash represents 2 of the states most storied programs in a Class 5A Showdown.. They have played twice in each of the past 3 seasons (regular and playoff)... The Eagles hold a 4-2 edge.... Looking back to last year, in the state semi's Valor nipped CC in a 10-7 victory.

I still remember my California History teacher describe the Gold Rush and how Cherry Creek was the initial site that spawned the Colorado Gold Rush (if my memory is wrong please forgive my senility)...... In 2016, the Bruins were 9-4 (2 of those losses were to Valor)... In 2015, 10-3 (again 2 losses to Valor...one in which was the state title game)..... In 2014, 11-3 (CC won both that year)..... At first glance, it might look like CC is snakebit when it comes to Valor....but CC usually gives Valor all that it can handle..... In addition, the program attracts a lot of in state talent not interested in sharing their ability with a private institution.

Cherry Creek has its share of Div 1 athletes too.... Jr QB Alex Padilla (6'2" 190 lbs) is a gamer and has several offers, he averaged 260 ypg..... RBS Jayle Stacks (Soph) runs for 78.3 ypg and Jr Alec Pell both have combined for 585 yards w/7 TDs so far this season..... Top WR Dimitri Stanley caught last week 8 catches for 153 yards w/2 TDs (already has 40 catches for 503 yards w/6 TDs) he's going to Univ of Colorado.... The Oline and D line has some big strong players, many with Div 1 talent..

Valor has its pedigreed specialty players, but the last 2 games has shown the versatility of Joshia Davis (2 weeks ago he had 2 receiving TDs and was leading receiver. Against Pomona he went off for 3 rushing TDs w/197 yards..... CC must account for him....

I guess this game could go either way, however, Cherry Creek won't be intimidated by Valor and I suspect that HC Logan will have his boys worked into a frenzy to try and enact some revenge.... This should be a hard hitting, fierce showdown... I'm taking the points because Valor hasn't ever covered a big number to this Co rival...

Play Cherry Creek +22 over Valor Christian.... 2 units WIN

HSF CA:

San Clemente -7' Edison (57) *Waiting for my southern CA connection to check on his thoughts.. Will be back shortly

The last time we saw these two was the CIF State Southern CA Regionals Div IA.... A game that the Tritons won 39-35 in a shootout that saw a scoreless 3rd quarter, but saw both offenses come alive scoring a combined 36 points in the 4th (both QBs threw for 619 yards w/6 TDs) in what was a very entertaining game..... San Clemente is on a 11 game streak since a loss to Mission Viejo in a South Coast League loss.

Clemente had to replace Star QB Jack Sears (now at USC) who is now backing another Clemente QB starter Sam Darnold at USC..... It appears Tritons are a QB pipeline for USC.... Perhaps that's why QB Brendan Costello (6'1" 190 lb Jr) transferred from Santa Margarita... He averages 211.4 ypg passing and is 70 of 107 completions for 1,057 yards w/15 TDs with No Ints..... Last week he passed for 200 yards w/2TDs... He is currently #10 in passing in Orange County..........His top WR is Sr Keith Jones has 17 catches for 211 yards w/3 TDs..... RB Sr Austin Whittsett (5'10" 200 lbs) had 1,106 yards on 182 carries last year.. This year he has already produced 72 carries for 464 yards w/8 TDs (also ly he was a All CIF Selection) has offers to San Diego and Cornell but is leaning to a walk-on at Stanford...... TE Chris Kane is the prototypical Tight End body at 6'5" 220 lbs (has 6 major college offers).....

Clemente is ranked #82 in the Nation and #17 in CA.... HC Jaime Ortiz has moved to Defensive Coordinator to introduce his philosophy called a "Swarm Defense" and has been very effective...., Since winning the State Crown last year, the Tritons are a marked man.....Tritons are trying to win their first 6 games, which hasn't happened since 2011.....in 5 games they have only given up a combined 72 points....... When averaging 42.2 ppg on offense means you are going to do lots of winning..

Edison is under New HC Jeff Grady who took over for longtime Legend Dave White.... Chargers are 3-1 and will provide the biggest test to date for the Tritons.... In 4 games they have scored 133 points and given up 71 points combined.... They are ranked #222 in the Nation and #31 in CA.... QB Griffen O' Connor was last year CIF - SS Div 3 Offensive Player of the Year (headed to Yale)... Griffen is a 6'3" 200 lb Sr and is 47 of 89 passes for 674 yards w/5 TDs (but has 5 picks) He averages 224.7 ypg passing..... His top target is Sr WR Dave Atencio a 2 way player that has caught 18 for 391 yards w/4 TDs..... Unfortunately, the teams Star recruit and RB Sr (6'3" 190 lb) bruising rusher hurt his leg 2 games ago and he's now out for the season (that's 100 yards rush on offense now gone)......

Fortunately, the Edison D has come to play and pitched 2 shut outs the last 2 contests..... Edison is again picked to win their league, however, San Clemente is a whole nother horse...... Edison does benefit from having a bye last week which should give them time to come up with a game plan that doesn't involve J Carmichael (injured RB) and allows the rest of the team to get healthy (QB Griffen has been suffering a respiratory illness but hasn't hurt his production.........

As much as I would love to see a repeat of last year's big game, I really don't see how Edison can match the offensive proficiency of the Tritons......

The line opened -3' and is now -7'.....

Play San Clemente -7' over Edison for 3 units :LOSS

This one is a little close to where my family lives and this is a huge game for them. THey are playing good ball. Am I insane to think Ryle could sneak out of here with a win. Chisolm is studly and yes Cathedral has a gaggle of D1 talent over there but weekly travel and all that can take its toll... I like your under and may play that with the Ryle kids.

Ryle is off a bye

Ryle is off a bye

Ryle off a bye as well. Coach said we want to Run Run Run in order to keep their offense and our defense off the field. Cathedral has Lakewood St. Edward on deck which is one of the top powerhouses in Ohio and historically a national powerhouse. Anyway.. Just rambling.

Well I certainly defer to your knowledge regarding these two as the Under was where I thought was some value... I thought perhaps going with Ryle +19 (opened at 17) was a play... Problem I ran into was I joined a football forum that was discussing this game and several "fans" felt like Ryle was outclassed here.... Which didn't make too much sense on records alone.... Question? Is Ryle a Public School? May have to add a couple of shekels to Ryle if you think they can hang..

Alcorn state vs Texas Southern

Alcorn state vs Texas Southern

Riff- the qb for tsu Jay Christophe is out for the season. His backup Dominic Dilaria is from Lake Travis here in Dallas. He is a passer. TSU coach in press conference talked about how they have to scrap the whole offense now and focus on what the new kid can do. Last week in 1 quarter he thre 18 times while Christophe had only thrown 11 times thw first 3 quarters... my point. TSU is going to be come out pass happy bastards (based on my read of the newspaper and the swac coaches press conference). Based on Mcneese game for Alcorn they can be passed on.... Alcorn likes to go fast...
I think we get a relatively easy over is my point. Not trying to piss on your play. Just trying to spread info.

Ryle is NOT private. Also the stud RB for Cathedral is OUT. Would have been great to have that before game kicked but...

Love the Dartmouth play.

Great call on the ALcorn State under

Great call on the ALcorn State under

Easy under and good call. TSU threw more but were incredibly inept on offense. Alcorn State played without any explosive plays.

Great call on the high school stuff. Impressive

Sat Stuff...

Definitely not going to throw as much of the bankroll at one time... Top plays are:

FCS:

Princeton -13.....3 units.. LOSS *Tigers have made me alot of dough the past couple of years.... QB Kanoff is the real deal and currently #3 on all-time pass yards list... Princeton already took down Pioneer League Champ lw San Diego.. Tigers own this series 70-15 (won last year 48-13) and this team is better with a ton of veteran talent.

E Tennessee St +13'....... 3 units.. LOSS..
. Furball foiled me
Furball shouldn't be favored by this much against VMI..... Furball 1-3 think St hangs

Jacksonville - 25.......3 units..WIN ... Jax /Guilford OVER 71..WIN
4 units *Jax should cover but doesn't play much defense..

Harvard /G-town OVER 39.... 3 units...WIN

Albany - 6'.......3 units.. LOSS *following Musca on this one

Citadel - 1 ....... 3 units.
.. LOSS *another follow Musca

J Madison/Delaware OVER 51......4 units... LOSS *Love this total
