UTA -3.5 over Texas St *******
1st half UTA -2 **

Its my game of the year and should be your " fade of the year"... spent again so much time on doing this game..something is definitely wrong in my math when I capp UTA... so went back to the drawing board last nite...redid,changed,re added,re-subtracted,multiplied ,threw out the coaches points I have taken,etc....kept a few like" best player on the floor, outstanding pt gd,front line, scoring, rebounding, past performances, etc.etc I get UTA -7...that includes home court, visiting team, seeing eye test,etc...so after all my calculations I come up with UTA -7 to -8... then last nite never looking at the vegas line I see UTA -3.5...so I ask what person in Vegas came up with that line...they have never been to 7 Tex St home games and sat in row 2,3, or 4 at every game...they didn't sit right in front of the visiting teams bench...they don't know when the Laf coach calls out " play number 4" that there is a double screen for Bartley...they haven't sat next to Bartleys father during the game and when Marquis hits his 3rd 3 pointer he did that at USC before he transferred....they don't know Bartley went to BYU before LaLaf...they don't know Tx St has only 2 players that can create their own shot, they don't know that Immanuel King Tx Sts 6'8 250 pound center has set about 25 illegal screens and the one time I sat right behind Danny Kasper the coach on Kings 23 rd illegal screen he said in disgust right to him " you have more bullshit screens then rebounds" now take a seat..
Now vegas does know they are 0-8 ats at home..they know the stats, they are ranked 315th in scoring, top 40 defensive team..etc,etc...they know trends, past games,etc...
So who do
you guys trust...the Vegas odds or Box...I think Hervey who is a future NBA player and Neal at the point who is
one of the nations top assists leaders come into San Marcus and beats the Bobcats by 7-10 points... Nobody knows the Bobcats better then me....so again I ask" who do you trust more"...maybe Vegas does know a little more then me because I am not in the Caymons Islands..I'm not even close to paying for an air ticket let alone a house on the beach...but tonite I might get a rental but not beach front house..have lost many times with UTA
I will be sitting in row 3 or 4 right behind the UTA bench ....when I see Kasper raise his hand with a 1 I will yell out to Coach Cross " that's their diamond press 1-2-1-1 coming"..But Coach Cross might just turn around look over to me and say " I have the best pt gd in the country so it doesn't matter"

Will be back later with a few MAAC games...lost Bucknell big but Fairfield won big over Marist...didn't do well last night..but tonite I get a few rebounds with Hervey and co...

Damn,,cannot believe this...after typing here went to the obits in my local paper...I see the picture of him before the name... Les McMillen basketball coach at NYMA passed away...great coach...all class....has 400 wins and many of those wins were against me...talk about "class " his school is where Trump graduated from..not that does matters...Les coached basketball and football...his gym was about 120 feet long because the Knicks used it as there pre-season camp...Les would invite us over to talk to and watch the Knicks practice...
Damn, that's 2 people in 3 days....have so many stories about Les and his teams...when my team played in the state finals in Glenn Falls he would bring his entire team on a bus to the game to cheer us on..his players would come into our lockeroom before the game just to wish us luck...even though they were our opponents during the season... RIP Les...you were always respected by everyone....sorry about posting this here...

Box,
I played baseball with Les 30-35 years ago (I still live in the Hudson Valley) and later slow-pitch softball. Nobody could hit a ball as far as that man (and he knew it...generous ego :) He was manager/coach for our Rookie League baseball team (a bunch of college age and above players).

Also found your post interesting about the other untimely death. I was cub sportswriter 30 years ago and used to cover the Orange County area and went down to James I. O'Neill occasionally when the team was making state runs (not sure if that was one of the teams you were referring to when you referenced West Point). Still work in sports media but no longer covering teams.

Interested to hear where you coached.

Enjoy the game tonight.

pipeville..didn't know about his softball backround...but I can see with his body he could probably hit the ball far....again such a nice man...only 2 years ago he called me because the enrollment at NYMA was going down..he asked me as a principal to ask our guidance dept if we had any kids that would fit the NYMA mold...I did and we had 2 kids enroll there...there were times when I told him that I was coming to scout a team he was playing... he would meet me in downtown Cornwall at a pizza place...he payed for the pizza but then asked me if I would buy a raffle ticket for his football team...I would spend $30 on 3 tickets....the pizza bill was probably $13...
O'Neill was my enemy and rival in Highland Falls...they were in my league and conference so I played them 2 times a year for 17 years...Kaplan ran the best 1-3-1 defense...never changed..and we could prepare for it for days...but he had all the West Point kids..every year he would get a captains or majors kid that transferred from Germany or where ever dad got stationed..plus all the employees kids that worked at the Point...if you email your address I will tell you what school I was at..don't like to mention it here...Kaplans wife Cloris passed away 2 yrs ago...I loved her but not her husband..she came to every game he coached for 30 years...a nice woman...

Keith 1... thank you for your support..lol I know those guys are a lot smarter then me...they do have a reason for putting that number out...and they do such a great job at it..but if we can win around 55%-57% of the time we are doing just ok...I sit with the visiting teams section...I hardly ever cheer because I'm by myself....but tonite think I might cheer a little....back to post the rest of the games..

UTA -3.5 over Tex St *******
UTA beat Tx in overtime the 1st time they played...by 2 pts...but Tx st at one pt was 13-7...they are now 14-16..UTA is 16-12 and fighting for a 3 seed in the Sun Tourney..Tx is locked in at 8 or 9...Neal and Hervery are the best combo gd-fd tandem in the conference..Mavs avg almost 80 pts a game ..also they have a 7'0 center in Hamilton who avg 10 pts and 7 bds a game..he has 72 blocked shots...he held King in last game to 2 pts and 4 bds..UTA can score ranked 70-80th in the country..also ranked 38th in most assists...there defense is the reason they have lost 14 games..this is almost the same team that beat BYU in the 1st round of the NIT's last yr...Texas offense is ranked in the mid 300's..they win on their defense..but in last 5 games they have given up over 70 pts..so there one big strength has fallen by the wayside somewhat...0-9 at home..have lost 8 straight vs the spread...although the Bobcats only lost by 2 at UTA this teams are going into different directions..where ever UTA gets seeded in the tourney they could easily win it...they have the horses to do it....UTA defense is bad vs a weak Tex offense...Mavs have to much fire power and a great pt gd...I watched that Tookie kid in the 2nd half last week destroy Tx St...Neal is much better then Tookie and Tookie was the best player I have seen going to all these games..maybe Bartly because his old man was sitting next to me...enough..love big time UTA to cover and win by 7-10 pts.....like I said maybe a good fade because of my past record taking the Mavs....
will try to text at halftime to see what is happening..if no text could of left the game and drove down to San Antonio to the Riverwalk... I'll ask some tourists how far is Corpus Christie and the gulf of mexico.. I need a swim...

Rider -5.5 over Peter ***
Peter down 47-33 with 7 minutes left...vs Monmouth...they storm back with Griffin hitting a 3 at the buzzer to win the game...unreal ..thank you Monmouth for covering...hope you get about a foot of snow today.. Rider has played Peter twice but just barley beat them 88-84 and 63-60....Rider has a shot at winning this MAAC and cannot see them folding..to much offense even though Peter plays great defense...Rider has the best pt gd in Jordan....
How ironic it is that 2 years ago I got see UTA's Neal and Riders Jordan in person.. I came here and said I got to see 2 of the best pt gds in the country....and today both are playing and i'm backing both...Rider wins this by +10..Peter might hang around awhile but Broncos have to much offense...

Canisius -5 over Quinn *****
Love the Griffs tonite...did beat Quinn by only 8 and 7 during the year..Griffs have Crumpton and Reese 2 big time scorers..but local kid Molson has scored 23 and 25 pts in last 2 games...Quinn has enough on their hands stopping 2 of these guys...Griffs win by double digits...and lets not forget only 10 days ago Quinn scored 43 pts in a loss to Peter..think this is a blowout game

Davidson -1.5 over URI **
Like the Alridge kid..think he had 45 the other nite..URI is still trying to figure out what hit them vs St joes..they got beat 78-48..Cats had won 4 in a row until ot loss to bonnies...

UTA and then
Canisius

will try to text at halftime of UTA game...maybe a halftime play might look good...
a few plays I was thinking about
UTA over 71 pts
TxSt 67.5 pts..the under is looking good
138 over and under
might take the under but UTA defense is so questionable

think 3-1-9 -11*'s
have to recheck that but pretty bad

Box, Vegas has

Box, Vegas has

Proof in the numbers. They make a line the few outfits that come out a head of the rest let their A players or syndicates hit their numbers first, then other casinos/bookmakers pick up there numbers and millions and millions of dollars/plays determine if they made a mistake. Where as you are going on what you see watching the games which someone else sitting 5 feet from you watching as many games as you sees something totally opposite. Now to answer your question who you going to trust in Box or them. Well watch the line and will get the answer. Good luck although that play of the year thing always scares me Im going with you and Im not saying that's a good thing.

Box,

I'm seeing Canisius -9 just about everywhere, this would really make a difference than you Canisius -5, even though you think they win by double digits.

Canisiusis -9 that was a typo. Sitting court side. UTA looks better in the warmups. But bobcats are taking 3?s. King who can?t shoot from 6 feet in is out there taking 3?s. It?s a white here with every seat with a Terri cloth towel. Damn. Can?t they afford a t shirt UTA came out like a pe class with a Neal as the instructor. Sliding right left on his signal. When he pretends to shoot the whole team bum rushes him. Everyone laughs. I give UTA one extra point for warmups. Thanks wiz. I can?t type anyway so sorry for this. But am getting better. Good luck tonite

Nedeljko prijovic Tex bobcat has jeans on not playing. He had 6 rebounds in last game vs UTA. No big loss. But they have very little depth inside. He is 6? 8 but plays outside

Box, just checked UTA's box score from their last game vs GA St... They started Harris, Hamilton, Hawkins, Neal and Wilson, all seniors, and their biggest minutes getter off the bench, Hervey, also a Senior and their leading scorer.

Wow tough game. Hamilton the 7 ft center was benched by coach for something. During time out he wasn?t in the huddle. So coach benched him. Then he talked back. They have hervey guarding Pearson. He can?t stay with him. I think he hit 4 3 pointers. Neal is yelling at coach. Let me have him. UTA has so much better talent but bobcats are so much better coached. UTA is all 1 on 1 nba style. It?s 42-41 yd up. Still think mavs should win since Hamilton was put back in with 6 minutes. No half time play. Emotion and hustle Texas has. UTA shows little emotion. Hervey hasn?t broken a sweat. Neal is nice though
