Loyola +3 over UIC: Loyola is one of the hottest teams in the league right now. UIC views defense as something to do until they get the ball back. Looking at the first round games doesn't give you a good picture. Loyola was in control vs. YSU and coasted in the 2nd half while UIC beat up on a CSU team that was playing poorly down the stretch and had lost its best inside player (Westley). I have this game lined at PK. I'll take 3 points against a poor defensive team.

Cornell +5.5 over Yale: The line is creeping up on this one so you might want to wait to see if it gets to six. Cornell has a lot more to play for in this game. If they win tonight and beat Brown tomorrow they will finish 9-5 and in 2nd place in the Ivy. They will also finish above .500 overall. That may not mean much to some teams but to a program like Cornell, it's something. Yale, on the other hand, has let this season get away from them. The loss at home to Brown two weeks ago was devastating. I don't see them giving their best effort for the whole game. With their poor FT shooting they will have trouble protecting a late lead. Give me Cornell and 5.5.

Detroit -3 over Wright St.: I've been riding the Wright St. horse for last couple of games but its time to get off. Detroit has a very good chance to get to the championship game. If they beat Wright St. they will play UWGB in the semis and the Phoenix are not a team to fear. When the Titans are focused they are very good. They will be focused today. Lay the 3.

One more side:

Harvard +9 over Princeton: This is too many points in what should be a low scoring game. The total is 117 which projects to 63-54. I don't think it will get that high. This game has not been decided by double-digits only twice in the last nine times they've met. Give me the points.
