"...Quo fas et gloria ducunt..."
1) BOSTON: cone vs towers...maybe the UNDER as well...
2) TB over minny..tb's confidence must be at an all time high after playing the yankees so close...
3)Montreal or the runline...
4) detroit
5) LA/PHILLY UNDER
6)TORONTO/ANAHEIM UNDER
7) seattle vs Judy Garland...
8) ST.loo/mets UNDER

come back with write-ups later...

time to get back on track and stop this silly up and down two weeks.

today's picks:

1) KC Royals are 2-16 on Fridays...Detroit's the better hitting team right now,and with Weaver on the mound, watch for Detroit to come away with a victory. Again, my rule of thumb here is that seasonally, the Tigers have done very well ATS in game one of a road series...Byrd has lost 3 of his 4 home starts...
taking detroit -105

2) TB +150 OVER the twinkies...
AND the UNDER 9 +100

P.Wilson has pitched alot better than his stats suggest...3 ER in 15 innings, two wins in three starts...his scores have been:
6-4,5-4,3-1...all team wins. Minny has been playing horribly of late, and with TB's confidence in the Yankees series giving them a boost, i think TB has a descent chance of beating MINNY here...Mays has pitched well on the road with a 6-4 record and 2.78ERA hence why i like the UNDER.

3) TORONTO/ANAHEIM : UNDER 9 +100
I've seen this Brandon Lyon kid pitch last week and suggested that the Jays would get the win for him...they did. After settling down after the first inning, the kid only gave up 1 hit for the next 6 innings...being on the road, hopefully he'll have less of a distraction to deal with. The Jays blew a chance to get some wins in the last series with Seattle. Four of the six games they've played against each other have gone under, and the Jays are a heavy UNDER team on grass.
S.Schoeneweis has been pitching well and should keep this game near the UNDER as well...Schoen is 6-3 with a 3.94 at nite.
Jays are hitting a dismal .227 vs lefties this season AWAY.

5) CLEV -130 (nice number) vs TExas.
looks like texas has reverted back to their old ways while Clev is making their run for he title now...
doug davis' numbers vs cleveland
W-L: 0-3 ERA: 8.27 G: 3 IP: 16.1 H: 25 ER: 15 BB: 8 SO: 8

not very good at all...

clevland 9-4 vs lefties on the road...

6) taking in MONTREAL -140 vs Milwaukee
This is montreal's time to shine at home as the hapless Milwaukee crew comes in.
Ruben Quevedo got murdered the last time he pitched giving up 7 runs in three innings..?
Thurman has been solid for the EXPOS.
