The Brewers have won four of six (+$205) in this series and the two teams have now split 22 games in the last year plus. Milwaukee has been playing decent baseball since the All-Star break, but Cincy has won 14 of 23 over the same period of time. No matter. We?ll hone in on the Brewers? lefty duo of Doug Davis and Chris Capuano. Milwaukee is 14-8 (+$470) in their 22 home starts and the Reds are 5-10 (-$300) on the road against portsiders. BEST BET: Lefthanders vs. the Reds..

With the Cardinals an almost mathematical certainty to have home field advantage in the NL playoffs, this is a far more meaningful series for the wildcard hopeful Cubs. However, the inept Cubs? offense (19th in MLB in RPG) is averaging a puny 2.8 in their last 13 games, not a good sign when you are about to host four games against the team with the best ERA (3.47) in the NL. The Cardinals will undoubtedly be facing both Mark Prior and Carlos Zambrano, but they are 70-41 (+$670) so far this season. Zero in on Cy Young candidate Chris Carpenter as St. Louis is 9-0 (+$900) in his nine road starts and his away ERA is 1.92. BEST BET: Carpenter. PREFERRED: Cardinals in all other games.

Marquis - St. Louis 52-29 when the money line is +125 to -125 over the last 2 seasons

Zambrano - 3-7 TSR vs. St. Louis

Buehrle - 39-13 TSR after giving up 1 or less earned runs last outing since 1997

Haren - 10-1 TSR in the second half of the season over the last 2 seasons

Wells - 0-6 TSR in August over the last 3 seasons

the ChiSox
prowess against lefty pitchers (12-3, +$945 on the road) and now
they take their show to Fenway and will be underdogs with their
best hurler on the mound. The Red Sox have tended to struggle
against good lefties this year and average about half a run less
per game scored in that situation. Boomer Wells has very good
home/road splits but he has faced much weaker opponents at
home, which accounts for some of the disparity in his numbers,
so look for that Fenway ERA to climb a bit. Chicago has been
winning a lot of close games and it's very likely we'll see something
along those lines since neither pitcher issues many walks.
However, the Pale Hose have the clear edge in bullpen personell,
which could prove the difference here.

Watch the Red Sox everyday and love the White Sox in this match-up. Red Sox have struggled against good LHP.

I played the Whitesox, the under and parlayed the 2. Ray, I dont like either Oakland or the Angels today. I see them having a let down after a tough series battle for division supremecy. Not to mention Santana is lights out on the road and the A's have not had much success against him.
