Thanks for the kind words gsp, just getting back from dinner.
Just finished paging through a few notes I've accumulated over the years and would like to share a few thoughts. I respect all you cappers' that have the solid facts that may blow this out of the water, but here goes:
This applies to me only, but may help someone else.
I always found it hard to cap games going into the last ten days of a trade deadline. Maybe it's just me, but it seems there are to many emotions in the dugout during this period.
Will I be traded? Where will I go? Family? Money? Clubhouse friendships broken? etc.
It equates to an upheaval in varing degrees, depending on the person.
Bottomline: I don't like to play those 10 days before the trade deadline.
I feel just the opposite after the deadline. All the "good teams" supposedly have bolstered their lineups and should be very positive going into the last two months.
I feel this is a decent time to play more dogs, first 10 days after a trade deadline, inclusive. The dogs seem to have something to prove before they lapse back into the team they have been all season.
Food for thought, if you carefully evaluate each game.
