Nova (-5.5) over WVU

WOW the neers have shocked the world and given themselves a shot at making it into the tourney. However they are going up against a team as hot as they are now. Nova has the shooters to break the zone WVU used against BC. They have the press to force WVU turnovers, leading to easy buckets. AND Nova has speed to take advantage of tired wheels WVU might have after its last 2 nights. I'm very impressed with the way WVU has shot the three but not sure they have enough in the tank. Nova's defense held WVU in check their last meeting, allowing only 40 some odd points in the game.

Clemson (+16.5) over UNC
UNC hammered Clemson the last 2 times this year, but that was with a healthy McCants in the line-up. Granted Clemson got lucky with Maryland key players struggling yesterday, they still have a little confidence going into todays game. I do not think the Tigers can pull off another performance like yesterday, but IMO they certainly have enough to keep it close. They have to avoid RUNS, like they one UM had yesterday to start the game.

N'Western (+18) over Ill
The Illni off their first loss will look to pound N'Western. The Cats have to slow the tempo and grind Ill, not run and gun. Use the blue print OSU gave them. However it means nothing unless N'western is hitting shots last meeting they shot 36% and granted Ill waxed them by almost 40. The nutral court should help them a little and Illni coming off a loss, might have a tough time rebounding.

UConn (-2.5) over Cuse
The huskies won both match-ups this year and now with the big men playing well, I think they should win the third. The size of UConn is too much for the Orange, Warrick will have trouble on the glass and getting open looks. Even when Cuse goes into the zone, UConn's bigmen find the holes and attack. Anderson may see a few mins tonight but nothing that would make him a factor. Still the size and emerging play of Gay and Williams (have to shot well) should be enough tonight. Two great coaches head to head, at the Garden so the crowd will be behind the orange.

G.Wash (-3.5) over Temple
The owls will struggle with the tempo that GW will force. The owls do not have the talent to stay with GW, unless they shoot outside themselves. No head coach could motivate them or be a distraction. Either way, GW was a team that beat Maryland and Mich St. They have the ability to open it up on temple which they DID they last time these two teams played. The Colonials will run and gun and force the Temple owls to go to their bench, which will hurt them considering they do not have the depth to keep Wash at bay. STILL GW has to make the open shots!

I like your Nova pick. Even if UWV keeps it close in the 1st half, their legs should give out in the 2nd. Good Luck

WOW - cover by 1 in N'western game :mj14:

UAB (+12) over Louisville

The last meeting was a three point Card victory in UAB. The blazers struggled with IMO a poor Depaul team. But IMO UAB is a team that plays to the level of their competition. The Blazers have to have constant pressure to harass Dean and Garcia into turnovers and missed (BAD or FORCED) shots. Nagging injuries have been a problem for the Blazers but some of those players should be getting back into the swing of things. Both teams will bring a lot of pressure and defense will be key. Still don't see the blazers giving up, rather working hard in the stretch.

WOW - UAB almost blew it!
Duke (-15) over UVA :mj14:

IMO uva is a poor team in the paint and on the glass. Williams will have a big game tonight. Miami could not finish the drink against UVA but they out played them the whole game. The 3 guard line-up of the wahoo will be put to the test again tonight having to run around screens chasing Reddick. I don't like laying this much chalk but I think the blue devils have the killer instinct that miami did not which allowed UVA to come back yesterday. If Duke gets ahead I don't think they will let up. Tough laying this many but UVA has been crushed by a few other ACC teams before.
