Easy winner, 1-0 yesterday for +2.0 units.

Oakland -168 over Texas

This is much a fade on the Rangers as anything else. This team has just been awful. While the A's have cooled some they are still 7-3 in their last 10 while the Rangers are just 1-9 and lost 6 in a row. Neither pitcher has exactly dominated lately but the Rangers have only hit righthanders at a clip of .222 their last 10 games. I believe Mr Lidle has enough to bring home the cheese in this one.

Tampa +127 over Toronto

I usually stay off my home team because they are terrible but I like this match up today. Kennedy is one of more underrated young pitchers in the league IMO. He has a career record of 14-18 and ERA 4.33, while not overwhelming numbers it's not awful considering the team he plays for has no kind of offense or bullpen. He is also 3-0 lifetime against the Blue Jays. Loazia on the other hand has had little luck against Tampa. In 2 starts this year he has gone a combined 6 innings this year and has given up 19 hits and 13 earned runs. A 19.50 ERA (through limited action) is never impressive against any team. For his career he has an ERA over 7 and a 2-3 record. Any kind of effort by the offense and we have a good shot here. The Devil Rays are 7-2 in Kennedy's last 9 start so if Tampa gives us a 2 touchdown lead or so this is one all over folks.

Boston -134 over Yankees

Pedro at this price is always a play just about. We all know about Mussina but Pedro has much much better stuff and is really rounding into mid-season form. While his 11-2 record with a 2.66 ERA is impressive enough, in his last 3 he is 2-0 with a ridiculous 0.47 ERA. It's also only 1.74 on the road where he has a 5-1 record as well. Even the Red Sox as a team kick ass on the road, 32-16, that's a shade better than the Yanks do at home. I have no illusions that the Yanks can't win this game but Pedro at -130 is always worth a play in my book.

LA/SF OVER 7.5 +100

Going against the grain here and to be fair my totals plays are sometimes completely off the mark so be careful! This may be a good FADE play. I just think this number is too low for a pair of teams that hit a good 30 points better against lefthanders than they do righthanders. No one else in the NL even comes close. LA has been feasting on them all year and the Giants prefer them as well. Hoping for a 6-3 type of ballgame tonight.

Atlanta -125 over Phillies
