Is that a dick comment by Sergio? Or did he really not mean it to be racial.

I dont think there is anyway he didnt mean it as a poke at his race, especially after the shit Fuzzy got all those years.

I think Tiger is a dick, but man what a stupid comment.

Obviously a reference to Tiger being part black, which nowadays you just don't do if you're in the public eye, especially considering that you are in the middle of a war of words with him. Yea Sergio it may have been a joke, but you weren't laughing with him, you were laughing at him.

Zoeller WAS just trying to joke, as he used to be the tour's class clown, but he too got burned with basically the same material. Btw, that Zoeller clip didn't seem too bad to me at the time, but 15 years later is cringeworthy.

I have always found there to be far more overt racism from caucasians towards blacks in Spain than in the US. And I live in the deep south

What would be interesting if Sergio would have said "eggroll and fortune cookie" the media would still be scratching their heads trying to decide if that would be racist.

On the course!
How do you get caught off guard by a question?

I can see people getting caught off guard by your answer though.

Here's the thing, though. You said it, you said you're sorry, now move on. If people keep bringing it up, tell them to fuck off!

These two wanted to keep 'sparring' in the media, and the media wanted to keep the fires burning. They got what they wanted.

Sergio should really just shut the fuck up now.
As for overt racism towards blacks, I can't speak to the deep south or spain but over my years I have heard more negative comments towards blacks from OTHER races more so then white. Just my small experience for what it's worth.

I agree with this and it's not even close. Could be a California thing?

I'm half Wop..........the lower half, watch it :SIB

Obviously, you don't know what wop means. Wop was/is an acronym from Ellis Island that stands for "Without papers". There were two signs that immigrants saw when arriving at Ellis Island. With papers and without papers, it has nothing to do with Italians. Now, Dago, refers to Italians but that little nickname was borne of the immigrating Italians not knowing how to write in English as all papers were only written in English at the time. Arriving immigrants, when asked to write their name, would often copy each others paperwork. The most popular name at the time in Italy was Diego, so most wrote that as their name. Once they left Ellis island, most settled in New York or Boston in areas that were predominately Irish immigrants. The Irish, due much to their accent and limited English comprehension, could not really pronounce Diego as Dee-ay-goe so it sounded much more like Daygo, hence the long standing term.
I would think if you were half Dago, you would know these things.

Hope this helps, ?

Although the term WOP did refer to any immigrant without papers it is primarily a derogatory term used towards italians.
