Round 1 plays (2pts):

Kent Jones to beat Paul Goydos +100 @ Five Dimes
Backing a player who is 5th in greens in regulation on Tour versus a player who is 155th and a player who finished 16th on this course last year despite a final round 76 versus a player who is making his course debut.

Jason Gore to beat Jason Day -113 @ Pinnacle
Backing another player who finished in the top-20 last year against a player making his course debut. With both players just outside the top-125 on the Money List, Gore's experience should be important - he has two top-10 finishes since August; Day has had none in the last six months.

All the voices from the commitee in my head are screaming, "Sit this one out. You haven't a clue." So what do I do? I spend more hours capping to come up with this gem.

McNeil to win 56.00

Why? I wish I knew. Maybe because he is doing OK in the fall series. Maybe because he did alright here last year. Anyway, the unit got bet. I mean what is there? Three tournaments left this year?

Marco Dawson has been added to the field of this week's Frys.com Open.
We reported this hours ago when Jeff Overton withdrew, but Overton was returned to the field a short time later. Dawson began the week as the 10th alternate and needs about $400K to secure a 2009 PGA Tour card. He placed T-14 at last year's Frys.com but has withdrawn from two of his last three starts.

...Yes, I just found this from pga.com...

Jeff Overton, currently 122nd on the PGA TOUR money list, underwent an emergency appendectomy Tuesday night at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz. His recovery is going well but it looks extremely doubtful that he will play again this season.

The top 125 on the TOUR money list retain playing privileges for the 2009 season. Overton currently is inside that cut line by just $23,938. He was scheduled to play the final three events of the season in an attempt to better his position.

With only conditional status on TOUR in 2007, Overton earned just more than $1 million and finished 99th on the money list in just 19 starts. This year he had three top-10 finishes in 30 events, but with a share of 10th at Turning Stone Resort Championship and a fifth at the Valero Texas Open in the last three weeks he had climbed back inside the top 125.

Overton felt uncomfortable Monday and delayed his flight to Phoenix but arrived that evening and played nine holes Tuesday at Grayhawk Golf Club in preparation for the Frys.com Open. After that he checked with medical personnel at the course and was advised to see a doctor. Tests were performed and Overton was operated on Tuesday night.

Came home and saw Chopra was +4.. then I noticed Green was +7 :scared I meant to lock it in for a first round, but instead its a 72er. I think from now on Im gonna bet 18holes since it seems i have been getting screwed in the final round the last few.

Round 2 play (2pts):

Jason Day to beat J.J. Henry -110 @ Five Dimes
Two good rounds from Day and Henry yesterday, but how they follow it up could be quite different. In the last eight occasions that Henry has finished the 1st round in the top-10, he has yet to break 70 in the 2nd round and has averaged 73.9 shots; Day has been in the top-10 after the 1st round six times on the PGA and Nationwide Tours and has broken 70 in four of those six 2nd rounds, including the Turning Stone Resort Championship earlier this month.
