I also have Hou in the series but like having Clemens in game 7 if needed fully rested with Oswalt for middle relief
GL

may not need Rog, Hou may crush Morris, then we have Rog & Roy Gm 1 &2 of WS

I think holding Clemens back is the way to go. He's hasn't had great success on short rest and he threw 116 pitchs the other day. I like the idea. Granted Munro is so-so at best, but Morris hasn't been a world beater. I see both teams scoring a lot, and in a slugfest it's anybody's game.

I agree with the shiek -- Clemens is 41 years old and has never been all that sharp when he goes on three days rest. Just have to win one of two, and I like their chances much better with Clemens in a big spot on full rest.

Guys I agree 100%. Clemens on 4 days rest with Oswalt and Lidge in the pen is much better than trying to milk Clemens and Oswalt both on 3 days rest. Plus Pete Munro is no slouch either. He is no Clemens, but then again I'm sure a lot of us said the same thing about Backe before his 2 starts in this series. Also, the Astro pen outside of maybe Wheeler and Lidge, is probably as unreliable as the Yankee bullpen is right now. For once a manager has gotten it right. Congrats to Phil Garner!!

Oswalt looked bad last start and said his short rest on the previous start hurt him.....so his arm would probably not be good for another 3 day rest rihgt now......

Clemens should be sharper this way, but granted it wouldda been nice to take momentum to SL and not give them anything back..

Need Andy Pettite lol

Yeah Lock, not sure why you're upset about this. If it gets to game 7, with Clemens on the mound the Astros should be a little bit of a favorite (or even), which would give you an excellent change to at least guarantee yourself a profit by throwing some money on Stl. If Clemens goes in game 6 and the Astros lose, you've got Oswalt starting on short rest with the Cards pretty heavy favs (like -160 or so) and their morale is done. Plus, just thinking about it from Garner's side, he knows that the NL winner will be on the road to start, and who better to have start game 1 on the road then Clemens? Plus, the Astros did fine with Munro on Saturday.

So, sorry, just don't see at all how this movie is anything but positive for you and the Astros.

When you got a team down!

Knock 'em out!

The bookies know i'm right!

The Cards are -240 tomorrow.

Munro is POS

Momentum will swing back with the Cards and i'm cooked in game 7. :cursin: :cursin: :cursin:

I'll take your ticket.... ;)

I agree with most of the others, saving CLEMENS on full rest for game seven is the way to go. Both CLEMENS and OSWALT were not all that sharp on short rest last time, and with the shaky BP of the STROS, I'd rather save those two for a game seven if needed. HOUSTON STILL has the momentum big time, and as noted, if it's a slugfest, well HOU has proven they can hit with anyone. I love your chances....

P.S. if HOU loses tomorrow, and YOU KNOW STL wins game 7, then play em as a dog and break even.... or lock in a small profit. In my opinion, johnyonthespot is right.... this is a great move by GARNER, and a huge safety net for all ASTRO backers looking to hedge. Getting +120 or whatever on THURS, is better than laying juice on WED.

Don't sweat it.... STROS are still a LOCK! :SIB

That was sweet!!

Couldn't believe I managed to hang on to win that one.... was at the Dr all day so I didn't get to post all my plays, but let's just say, "BASEBALL have bean berry berry good to me...." lately! ;)

Had HOUSTON on runline and parred STROS to Under.... Had STL and OVER in a teaser, played STL and UNDER 21.5 in 2nd half! Unreal night...

Probably should have left for VEGAS to play some slots or at the tables the way the betting God's were looking down on me.... Every game was a nail biter, and to win em all, and two by a hook!

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!

Made up for missing that huge par on SUNDAY! :SIB

and then some!

Good luck tonite.... thinking about making the same play as you, UNDER 5.5 first five...

Still waiting though....
