This game was over at halftime...To demoralize the kids on the other side like this is FUCKING DISGUSTING.
You’re not wrong… I did not post my play but I objectively was on UGA as the line moved towards 12 (half at 12.5, half at 14 +125) because the CFP is doomed to always tilt towards beatdowns.
The other way to look at it is how great is SB IV, or is the system great as well? It sounds lame to defend the 5 star hotel that is UGA, but it’s also a revolving door of players too. This is a team that ppl kind of forget isn’t laced with dynasties and Saban like trophy cases. How many SEC title games have they lost since the 90’s? I don’t know but feels like a lot. When were they nationally prominent and dominant enough to even be in the position to play for back to back titles? I think they had 1 nat’l champ prior to these 2 years, the 1980ish team that beat ND.
It’s hard as hell to get to the final, I’m not as annoyed by the aggressive style. You’ve got to enjoy the ups and bounce back from the lows. I always think about how miserable guys like Saban and BB in New England look. They don’t enjoy winning enough IMO, and the losses hurt far worse than the thrills of championships because they know how hard it is just to get there in the first place. We may never see Kirby coach another team in a title game, and being held back by Bama’s wins against them made them hungry.
like I first said, you’re not wrong, but there are two sides to it I think. I could be wrong and biased (I’m not a UGA fan, my play Monday was average nothing special). Keeping a team hungry and motivated is so much mental manipulation, with truth sprinkled on top. ‘We need to keep our foot on the gas TCU was one hell of a 2nd half team’. True… but your worst half against their best wasn’t changing the outcome. ‘We’re goin hunting tonight instead of bein hunted.’ True… but weren’t you the 2 TD favs going for back to back titles? My point is if that’s what it takes to accomplish greatness, I can respect it.
if we look back in ten yrs and KS never got to another title game, I think you may feel differently. Or not, but that’s all I’m really sayin…
Tcu couldn’t stop them period. The play calling went heavy run in Q2. It’s not their fault tcu turned it over and handed them points in a few cases. I’m not sure how you can instill the type of perfection we saw Monday but be “merciful” when its all on the line. Every come back or reversal of momentum usually starts with the leader’s mistakes or complacency. We’d be the first to call out coaches and players if they blew a lead, and in the second half I just didn’t see bad sportsmanship as much as terrible, and eventually gassed and heartless defense from TCU. Another point here is we saw that VERY OFTEN from that Tcu unit this season… in all quarters and situations. Taking uppercuts from
k-state and west va is easier to bounce back from than UGA. That’s all we saw, a demonstration of really really really bad, like historically bad defense
