Amazing but I don't believe Florida would have won the National Championship under any other system than the one they had to play. If the system was a playoff (which is should be), I do not believe Florida would win 3 straight vs. the top 8 teams to win it. And if the system was based on the best record then Boise State would be the National Champs.

Florida is not better than any of the other five top five teams in the country this year: they are a champion of circumstance. They had a great night while OSU was off for 51 days and never really got in the fight after their first TD.

If this does not bring on a strong debate that a playoff system is needed immediately then there are going to be serious problems with college football in the coming years because nobody will trust the current system.

If Florida had any class/balls and truly belive what they did a few months ago about the BCS being a crappy system then lets see them challenge Boise State for the real championship.

:mj07: Come on man, give respect to the Gators, I am an Auburn Alum, and have hated the Gators for many years, but Florida is a circumstance champion, that is the real joke...

LOL, I was waiting to catch some heat from Florida fans and that is fine (I won't respond to some to the name calling b.s. But Florida is a champion of circumstance pure and simple. They won under a system that doesn't work because there will always be a debate the way the BCS currently works.

A playoff would make NCAA Football absolutely amazing!! Seriously, I know it's talked about all the time, but if there was a playoff, I think it would maybe be better than March Madness, and I LOVE March Madness. Could you imagine all the drama and upsets? It would be great. The schools would make even more money.

I couldnt wait for the 51 day argument to come out. I guarantee during the kickoff return you were the guy yelling "51 days means nothing". How come in the past when OSU had 40-50 days off before their BCS games they won nobody ever mentioned it?? Florida last played 37 days ago in an SEC title game after surviving a brutal SEC schedule and im sure they would have welcomed some extra time off to heal up. I think the facts are pretty simple in this one, Illinois, Iowa, Purdue, Indiana, and northwestern dont really get anyone worried take into the fact that Penn St. was struggling early when OSU played them and we all see how good Michigan really was. I mean the close game with Ball St and the blowout by USC is all we need to know there. I am by no means a Florida fan but they outplayed, outcoached and outclassed ohio st.

A note to Florida fans who posted their crap above:

Anyone who knows me (and there are still a few) know that I am a huge Michigan fan. That being said, let me say this:

Michigan won part of the National Championship in 97 as circumstance too. So did Nebraska. It should have been settled on the field. Nothing has really changed since 97. We have yet another debate that could never be completely dismissed till there is a playoff.

Congrats to Florida just the same. . . but I believe my point is more than valid. Florida will always be known as the 2006-07 National Champs but did they really deserve it?

Yes, but I like the play off system idea to, Champions from 6 BCS conferences and 2 at large teams. Use the same Bowls, for the playoffs, would make the Outback or Capital One bowl a lot more interesting... They could also switch out the first round games each year as far as bowls, so the sponsors get some too... But what do I know...:com:

I should make one more post:

I didn't have a single dollar on the game tonight. . . I didn't play the entire season. I will be starting up in NCAA basketball soon but it didn't matter to me who won tonight. I was actually glad to see Florida win because I hate Ohio State as all faithful Michigan fans

Knickelback, if you didnt bet a dollar, then STFU this is a forum in which people actually bet. Im sorry for your 10 dollars bet on OSU -300.

Nickelback is a loser, also the Gators, Gators you should be glad we dont have a playoff system, you pussys can only won by 27 against a team with a 50+ days rest.

Im very glad Nickelback doesnt bet on the game, good for you, cause you suck.

I can make you money on the NFL, if you need winners just let me know. I will love to bet that I can pick more winners than you, but you have an edge, the NFL have a Playoff system, and it seems that you know how to pick winners when it comes to playoffs. :mj07:

Nickelback, another guy that makes me wonder why I dont run a sportbook.

Dude, they won by 27 points! WTF else could they possibly do to earn the title?

This Boise state love is bordering on ridiculous.

Hey, Mount Union and Grand Valley state went undefeated in NCAA Div 1A and 2...so should we have a playoff of the different divisions too, to get the REAL champ, just to be sure?
