"You know the world is going crazy when the best
rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy,
the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold
the America's Cup, France is accusing the US of
arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war and the 3
most powerful men in America are named 'Bush,' 'Dick,'
and 'Colon.'"

Chris Rock is a funny guy.

Have you noticed the resurgeance of stand-up?

Dennis Miller returned with an HBO special. Chris Rock did a show a few months back. Hell, Robin Williams even dusted off and did a show.

Stand-up seems to be creeping back into the forefront after taking a spill into sit-com sediment.

Every few years this happens. A large group of comics launch stand-up routines and then go the way of sit-coms. Those sit-coms get old and a new bunch appears. The last time it was THE KINGS OF COMEDY. Bernie Mac still has his show while I haven't seen Cedric or The Hugleys in a while they may be cancelled.

Before that it was Jeff Foxworthy & Margaret Cho. Do you remember there shows? No, well your'e probably better off.

Personally, I like stand-up. My favorites are Dennis Miller, Eddie Izard, and George Carlin. I'm happy they are returning, we need to laugh.

Izard

Izard

Izard is the funniest stand-up I have ever seen. You can catch it on the HBO COMEDY CHANNEL.

The name of his most recent act is "dressed to kill".

It's kinda odd in the beginning because he is a British cross-dresser. But hang with it he is "Dennis Millerish" Smart. Right, well ummm OK well I've gotta go put some babies on spikes now. Right. :D

Richard Janney pretty good, Bobby Slater not too bad either. Love a good stand up, used to bounce in a bar when I was in late teens. Sun was comedy night. Denis Leary, Steve Sweeney, Lenny Clarke all regulars had a lot of laughs, nice guys, Leary smoked like a fiend on/off the stage, used to crack me up while they were waiting to go on stage.

I have seen george carlin, jackie mason, bill maher, & too many others live, but imo the best stand up i have seen, by far is rodney dangerfield. He must have rattled off about 200-250 jokes during his routine. To me he was the best.
