My top 5 training staples:
1) Protein (mostly from real food ie: tuna, eggs, lean meats)

2) Complex Carbs (Oatmeal, brown rice, potatoes etc)

3) Multi vitamin/mineral

4) Water (lots of it, try to get 2 gallons a day)

5) Sleep (8 hours min. of deep sleep, I like to get 10 hours when possible)

A little extra protein--20-25 grams before and after a workout is OK--but stop the creatine yesterday--that shit is nasty and dangerous, IMO.

Ok...so knocked out 1 round of p90x...feel great...

getting ready to start 2nd round....doing 'lean' program.:scared :scared ...will focus on getting stronger...getting more muscle mass...


was wondering, besided steroids, what supplements would you recommend to add to daily intake....

I am using protein powder, creatine, and 'recovery' drink....

bkfst..protein shake

10:00 am....protein bar

12:00...sandwhich on wheat...or tuna fish..

3:00 snack

5:00..p90x...recovery drink


7:00 dinner...usually 4 oz fish/meat...1/2 cup veg...1/2 cup brown rice

This guy has GREAT info.

I'm not sure if he addresses it, but protein shakes and stuff are gaining a lot of negative press lately. It's always best to go LESS processed, so more natural sources will probably benefit you.

Congrats on wrapping up first round of P90X. That's a great accomplishment!

Lawtchan, let me ask my buddy about it. He's a rep for Applied which is the company that sells that stuff. I think it was Elvis that was asking about supps that increase your growth production but I've never taken any of these. I will say that if it does work you will love it. The main reason is because of sleep. You will know if it's increasing your growth production because your sleep will be better than you can imagine.

I take something that increases my growth production but it's a peptide(hgh is another form of a peptide) so a lot of people aren't comfortable with it.

When i did work out and was building mass I tried everything out there on the market besides steroids. Creatine did the trick but made me bloated b/c of all the water that you absorb its your muscles are filled with water than you are really bulking up. I did the protein thats always the first step and what I did was intake 1-1.5g of protein per lb of weight that I weighed. I agree with whoever said something about the kidney stones which is the reason of the mass amounts of water you should be drinking. The other basic essential was multivitamins and not just the one single multivitamin I mean the vitamin packs. Check with gnc they have these packs and work great. The best product that i have used to bulk up was a stack i took nitric oxide personal favorite is called No-xplode by bsn awesome. Can give you jitters tho so do not overtake follow the directions. I stacked the no xplode, zma and t-bomb forget what the actual name of this product is. Anyways stacking those items i put on about 25-35 lbs of muscle and 80 lbs in bench over approximately 2-3 months.

aren';t alot of these peptides injections and not oral supplements?
