ya want the lowdown.....


Minny is shutting down Colorado.........they are well coached and I see them pulling off the upset.......and if they get a 2-0 lead this time......they'll shut em down....think the key to this game is the first period and the first goal.......Minny stays tied after one period....I say they win......if they have a lead going into the third......it's over..........


as for the Leafs.........yes Nolan is useless (is in extreme pain, hopefully he'll take himself out of the line-up) and Roberts is also hurt.......but the bottom line is it will come down to goaltending....I can't remember a goalie with more horseshoes up his ass then Roman.....every 3rd save he either looks behind him to see if he made the save or gives up a rebound....then there's the thrown stick....or the lost glove, or how about the way he handles the puck.....I mean how many routine saves does he make......hardly any!!!

And it looks like the Leafs are finally learning....shoot the puck from everywhere....and if they PUT SOMEONE IN FRONT OF THE NET ON THE POWERPLAY, they'll score...........hopefully Quinn will dress Belak for that exact reason.......guess we'll see....:shrug:


Roman will be the downfall in game 7 .......both teams are dead tired..........I'll say it again.........it will come down to Belfour versus Roman.............anyone with half a brain will take Eddie over that lucky dude Roman............eventually the luck will run out........sorry Flyer fans..........your done.........Leafs win by 2 goals :thefinger :D

Only guy you'll have to blame is that guy Clarke......if the Flyers had a goalie.......they wouldn't even be playing the Leafs......they would have had Boston or NYI in the first round........:cool:

As a Flyer fan, I gotta admit that I agree with you. I really wanted them to end it last night. Home ice doesn't mean jack and I think the Flyers are more beat up cause the Leafs have outhit them the past few games and Belfour is better than Czechmanek who consistently scares the SH*T out me. Not having Desjardin also will be a killer tonight.

I also agree that Nolan should sit and I think some Flyers (possible LeClair should be sat although I doubt if will happen). Roenick is also beat up pretty bad but he is playing too well to sit. Really, I think it's a shame these two teams had to meet in round one this year.

Lastly, after beating the crap out of each other for what will amount to about 9 full games after tonight, how will the winner of this series be able to compete with a rested Ottawa team that was the best team in the league this season.

Ottawa's gotta be loving it watching this series, but they better not get too comfortable and too cocky, or it'll be another early exit:D. It's definitely a shame that one of these teams (Tor/Phi) has to go on vacation after tonite, what a series!

Personally, I'd like to see a Tor/Ott series, just because Tor's knocked out the Sens the last 2 playoffs. Gonna be a great series either way.

Miguel de Cervantes may have been correct in that "the road is better than the inn," but in best-of-7 playoff series games, the road is definitely not better than home. Thanks to their fine 1997 playoff run, the MLB Florida Marlins top this table, followed by the MLB juggernaut New York Yankees. All of the bottom six franchises in this table, and seven of the bottom eight, have relocated since posting such woeful records on the road -- at the very bottom of the table is the old NBA Fort Wayne Pistons with their 0-7 game mark on the road. The NHL Montreal Canadiens have played, won, and lost more road best-of-7 playoff games than any other NHL, NBA, and MLB team.

another thing i've noticed is the way that the LEAFS get belfour in on getting the puck out of their zone....

he is a wikkid puck handler and he quickly gets the puck up past the blueline to create odd man rushes when the other team is trying to get a line change.

and one last thing:

I've got a WHOLE new respect for J-RO after this series....he's one tough MO FO.....and i have less respect for PRIMEAU...for a guy his size....man, the LEAFS are pushing him around. I couldn't believe Antropov ( 22 years old, and a thin stick...) knocked him over with ease yesterday.....????
The Flyers have the size advantage but man, they just can't put those damned LEAFS away.....:)

this series has been another WAR ( like ALL TORONTO series the last 3 years...)

And as Ken Hitchpenis would say (and i agree with him):

..the only winner in this LEAF / PHILLY series is OTTAWA.

a fact or no fact.....it's hard on us true leaf fans, we live and die by every game they play in the regular season.....so losing in the playoffs is hard to take.....a little to hard.....
