A tad late on these, but here goes...

-B's on a cross country, non b2b 3 in 4. Leafs have been playing lackluster hockey with a narrow win over Buffalo and a tie vs. the Isles at home and a road loss to the Jackets on the road in their last 3. B's had defensive confidence breakdowns to lose 2-0 and 3-0 leads in their last 2 games. Only 1 of Boston's last 14 and 2 of Toronto's last 13 have gone under 5 goals. Of course, tonight the line is 5 1/2. With 5 1/2 the numbers are 7-6 and 8-6, both for over.

-Avs numbers are all great on shooting % and pp & pk% in their last 5 while the Sabres' numbers are all bad. Buffalo has given up at least 3 in 5 of 6.

-Special teams numbers are great for Philly and terrible for Atlanta in thier last 5. Philly has gone under 5 1/2 in just 2 of the 6 since LeClair returned. Thrashers may have won 3 of 5, but the two losses were to Dallas and Ottawa and they gave up 5 in each game.

-Both Florida and New Jersey have terrible offensive numbers on shooting % and pp% in their last 5. Panthers have scored over 2 in just 1 of their last 13. Devs have scored 2+ in 12 of 13.

more to come...

-Calgary has put it together defensively, giving up 2, 1 and 1 around a bad 4 goal night to Washington. Calgary has outshot 6 straight opponents while Phoenix has been outshot in 4 of 5. Calgary has been held to 1 goal in their last 2 home games while Phoenix has scored at least 2 in their last 10 on the road.

-Tampa has a 43% PP and 6% PK in their last 5. No surprise that they are unbeaten in those games. Wanna know why the team totals for TB vs. SJ add up to 5 1/2 but the total is only 5 o20? Well, Tampa has scored 2+ in 28 of 31 while San Jose has given up 2+ in 14 straight. The point is that the likelihood of a Sharks victory and an under is exceptionally slim. If you like San Jose, parlay it with the over because Tampa is almost certain to get 2+ goals.

-Jackets have won 2 of 4 while scoring 13 in that span. Ducks have won 2 of 5 and looked unimpressive in their last 6. So why in God's name is this line -270 (-1/2, -190)? Ducks clinch with a win.
