I am +20 units on the year and have lost my mind and am going to unload today. I just feel like it is going to be one of those days where you kick some serious ass. I have been waiting for this game all year long. I
Game of the year Texas +220 10 units
Texas ov 9.5 -115 10 units

Parlay of the year Texas/ov9.5 5 units

Parlay for Raymond for all the money he has made me
A's/Braves/rockies/stros/dodgers 2 units
A's rl/braves rl/rockies/stros rl/dodgers rl 2 units

All of this adds up to 29 units to win 120 units;)

I am going to the store tomorrow morning to get a briefcase:firing:

Nole the rockies just happen to be a system play along with the dodgers and the astros. I usually would rather have the system dictate my luck, but I just love the rangers for some reason. They swept the yanks at the bronx earlier in the season and I believe they take the series here. They are pitching much better and killing the ball. I see them putting up double digits today against mussina and that joke of a bullpen the yanks have this year. It is funny how human torre looks without a bullpen.

Its funny, everyone bashes the Yankees yet they have the best record in the american league and they are in first place. I am a very big Yankee fan and i agree we are not playing great ball rite now but we are in first place and this is the time of the year where the Yankees put it all on the line and play baseball. I played the under 9 1/2 today simply because the yankees have played their last 10 games vs. righties under the total, i have been riding this trend for a while, the last two games have stayed under and if i remember correct the rangers were swinging some big sticks coming into this series. I wish you luck but not to sure if this is a huge play.

good luck

I am not bashing the yanks, but being on the topic the reason why everyone bashes the yanks is they buy their team. It is that simple. Put a salary cap in baseball and they would be just an average team if that. It was the same situation in football before the salary cap came into play. The 49'ers and Cowboys were the dominant team and the 49'ers had all the cash. Then the salary cap came and these two teams have not recovered. If the cap had not come they would probably be the premier teams in the NFL. Look at their starting pitchers for the yanks. How many of them came through their farm system? That is why they are hated because of they way they buy players.

As a Yankee fan all my life, I have to say they've been bashed every year (except that period in the late 60's & early 70's when they absolutely sucked).

But...since when did bashing have any effect on the outcome of a game?

I say bash away. I bash the Mets every day. LMAO

Are you saying you don't want the Yankees to play by the rules of the game?
The rules of the game allow for the acquisition of free agents. Of course many teams aren't savvy enough to acquire the right free agents (ie: New York Mets) LMAO again.

Do you expect the Yankees to refrain from acquiring free agents so all the other teams will have a better chance?

I put little on the money line, will be pulling for you, off to a good start. Although, if its possible, Steinbrenner would buy some runs to get the Yanks back in this game ;)

Last time I checked Mariano Riveira, Andy Pettite, Nick Johnson, Derek Jeter, Al Soriano, Jorge Posada, Bernie Williams to name a few all come up in the system and they deserve to be rewarded, I dont believe anyone deserves the money these guys get but if the Yankees put 40,000 people in the stands every nite and they have the resources to pay these salaries then oh well.
The Yankees play the game of baseball and I have never heard a owner of an oppossing team complain when the yankees came to town and they filled up their stadiums. If you think about it the yankees bring more fans on the road than any other team.

Bottom line is New York and George Steinbrenner will do anything it takes to win and that is why new york loves the yankees and the other 49 states hate them. It will be like this forever.

Your right they do have great scouting, but I still maintain they would be just an average team if their was a salary cap. It would bring parity much like football.

Enrique Wilson congrats on your second homer of the year. You should not even be in the league. Why the hell is soriano not playing it would still be 3-0 Texas:mad: Who would think a scrub would do the job over a star:thefinger

You could make that same argument against the Lakers. If not for Free agency the NY Rangers might have went 1,000 years without winning the Stanly Cup.

If there was a salary cap in baseball, Steinbrenner would just spend that much more on his farm system and would turn out even better home-grown talent. In fact, I hope nobody forwards him this post. He could save a bunch of money by doing it this way.
I love rooting against the Yankees. But they are a class organization committed to winning.

The point I am trying to make is that the yanks would be an average team if baseball had a salary cap like all the other sports. Baseball does not have a salary cap I know that!!! I am just saying if they did. How fuc$$$$ hard is that to understand.

Hell if you have the money to get a great team, why the hell not??? He is out to win, that is all, I can't blame him one bit, at least he puts out a great product out on the field.

WCG,
Dont even bother trying to explain yourself, I live in Jersey and have this same argument all the time with Yankee fans, it drives me nuts. They have blinders on. People understand that Steinbrenner spends and puts out a good team but it is only possible because he is in the #1 market and makes millions on a television contract. No other team has that and thus does not have the money to compete.

Prime example of Yankees having an edge over everyone. They trade for Benetiz and take on his "CONTRACT", decide it wont be a good fit and trade him + "CASH" to Seattle for Nelson. So for all you Yankee fans, how many teams out there can afford to do this?

So as WCG was saying, if there was a salary cap, we would not have to watch the Yankees buy their championships every year because the playing field would be even like in football.

Only 1 team has to pay the luxury tax this year.....Anyone guess who that is??
