MY FINAL ANSWER:
MOST home plates in baseball diamionds are put towards the WEST, with the pitchers mound and Scond base towards the EAST.
Therefore, the answer would seemingly be Third base, assuming that the Home plate is at the west...BUT - it would be IMPOSSIBLE to hit a FAIR ball North to South Ball from home plate from that West position. I would HAVE to be a FOUL ball.
Therefore, if a ball is fouled due South from homeplate, and the wind is blowing from East to West, as Raymond posed, it would be fouled toward the first baseline, in a direct line, or parallel line, with the imaginary line drawn between Third and First.
Therefore, the CORRECT answer is that with an East to West Wind the ball will be blown in the direction of BOTH first base and third base.
OR, is it going AWAY from both First & Third, as the ball would be going farther away from the field this is sooooooo confusing .... ???
Only Raymond knows the answer...
Have a nice Memorial Day Madjackers, and take a moment to remember the fallen....
