Ehy is it if the cost of a barrel of oil is moving down towards $35 the pump price for gas is on the rise. Is it me or does this appear to be more of what I consider gauging by oil companies? Yes they need a profit but damn.

In California the state legislature is voting on a budget (yes, the dip-shits have not passed the budget that was due in July) that will add $.12 more cents to a gallon of gas, among a bunch of other tax raising proposals.....:cuss:
I thought it was Bush's fault
He created a war in the Middle East based on nothing but his own LIES, that's right he is a fuckin liar and ought to be put on trial, he cut all foreign policy ties with southern Ammerican oil rich nations such as Argentina and Venezuela to the point they would not even consider selling us gas. He pissed off every nation in OPEC who by the way openly admitted that they had a problem with Bush's policies. He increased taxes at the pumps, he allowed for price gouging and windfall profits that should have been regulated in an effort to save some small part of the economy yet he did nothing but act as exactly he should have. A man with a low to mid-level IQ, no social skills and a typical Republican stooge that their party follows straight to the shitter everytime one is in office. I am sure there are people here that think Reagan is the greatest and trickle down economics and all that well let me tell everyone a little something. READ. Simple as that. Do the math, every repression of depression this country has seen has been due to your republican policies. Now I don't care if you want to vote Republican and think McCain would have done any better as you can see he really grabbed hold of the economic situation in ArizonaStevie, what did Bush do that allows for gas prices to do what they're doing?
Stevie, what did Bush do that allows for gas prices to do what they're doing?
and windfall profits that should have been regulated in an effort to save some small part of the economy
WRONG!!!
Why should a company have to pay windfall profit taxes while they are profitable? Oil companies are huge, and they are having some good years, but keep the fecking government OUT of the pockets when it comes to punishing companies for profits.
UNLESS you want to be fair and any time a business doesn't make money you bail them out. Oh wait a minute. We already started that shit, and everyone is up in arms about that, too.
No it hasn't because I am done and I am sure that someone will insinuate that is because I have no answer for whatever ridiciulous defense someone puts up with about government regulation of large corporation being non-existent or wanting to be more reallistically however when there has been government intervention into industry it has historically failed however when a corner on a market of a conglomerate of several different companies collude to price fix, which is true, they have and continue to and you know it, at any level, they are now subject to antitrust and monopoly laws. Baseball is exempt from such laws and look at your ticket prices now, you probably think its the players fault who are only demanding what their particular market now commands and they become rich. The issue is that the son of a gun signing all their checks is wealthy and has raked in umpteen millions in profits and does not want to see his margin suffer whatsoever so you get one guy with a big contract pretending they're trying while the rest of your teams play like stiffs becasue the leafue is so watered down it ridiculous and you spend the money and boo the guy hitting .247 with 19 HRs and 81 RBI biecause he misses a hook on a 1-2 count. People really need to put thigs in perspective. This country is run by less than 1% of the population and the only time any one of us matter is at the polls. Make an educated decision and go read the historical facts not just the internet rhetoric. go look at Taft and Hoover and a number of others and follow the economic theories of each president regardless of party and you will see what works, i.e. House of Lords has 1/3 of the power that the House of Commons has at present and their economy does not exactly mirror ours yet their government comes very close. I think maybe that would help,Looks like a political discussion made it's way to general again......
kneifl
All apologies layinwood, you know we are tighter than two nuts on a squirrel and I understand there is no direct evidence that he had an actual "hand" in it however some of the all his failed policies indirectly contributed to it but again Bro. difference of which shoe you and I tie first to me. I am opinionated and wrong and I am right, depends on who agrees with me but I would never let something so ridiculous as party policy change a friendship or acquaintenship as it isn't worth it. Citizens showed up to vote this time, usually the Democratic has a hard time getting its members to vote while the Rep. rarely have this issue, they vote the hell out of it!!!!! Anyway I am headed to the lake to do some fishing and hope you have a great weekend and hope that you dont or didn't take offense. Stay cool and good weekend to ya.FDC, sorry buddy you must have misunderstood the question I asked. This thread is asking why the price of a oil has gone down but gasoline prices haven't. I jokingly said it was Bush's fault and Stevie said it was. So the question is, what did Bush do that is making the current gas prices stay up while oil is going down?
